Restless energy surged through the massive stallion, carrying him onward as he sought something... what he wasn't sure. Clinging mud gave way to clinging sand, birdsong faltered before the hushed rumble of ocean waves, and he halted to study his surroundings. Late evening sun glinted off the surf, sparkling and bright, while the air was rich with the scent of brine and life. Far off on the horizon hung a looming bank of dark clouds that held another spring shower.

Spreading his broad leathered wings the hybrid surged up onto his hindquarters, forehooves tucked against scaled breast while his long tail dug a trench in the sand behind him. From his throat rumbled a bugling call, ushering in anyone else who might share in his overabundance in energy and inclination to spend it in swift, decisive fashion. Any would do. A dull thump rose as his hooves met sand again, and he folded his wings against his sides as he stood and waited.

[Set on the beach, dusk and clear skies, wet sand. 3 posts each with closing defenses.]

To the left, to the left, to the right, to the right, bounce, bounce, bounce, now stryyidde baby stryyide. Show that manly pride! Uh! Noise approached, with his good side, his right, showing and what met a horse's, or rather a half-lizard in this case, eyes was giant muscles rippling beneath a thick black hide. All four hooves thudded upon the ground, though his left side had significantly more impact one couldn't see, and one could feel the recoil in the sand. His mane was a tall roached mohawk, striped with neon pink, blue, green, orange, and yellow, and it glowed in the dark. The neon green LED dermals he had all along both sides of his neck and along his spine were dull, and lightless protrusions for the moment while the stumps of his three horns glowed faintly. He was a beast. He stopped and struck a pose and his LEDs ever so faintly flashed. His glowing mane was beginning to glow in the setting sun as he turned to look to his right at his opponent.

Fuck

Glowsitcks the beast was huge. Oh yes, this Lizardman was worthy of a battle. Le lizard was just slightly taller than himself and armored similarly to himself, though with scales and no metal, so they were fairly equal...but...oh space waste...it had wings topside....wings. Well, he had lights so that could equal them out. The sand wasn't spectacularly deep or soft and that worked just fine for him because it meant he could move swiftly and firmly and at least there was no rain, just packed wet sand, as there had been when he fought the Evil Puddle(aka. Cinnoru). He would do well, baby take a chance or you'll never ever know. and with that he bounced his ass about to face the Lizard head on, his hind feet making an audible thud, like an mini space cannon blast. His voice impossibly deep, like a cross between a black guy and Josh Turner, rolled out of his half metal maw, Greetings, honored combat lizard, I am Noise: Killer of Zorlogs. Let us battle....babaay!

While he had been speaking, Noise edged slightly closer so, hopefully, the gap he had to close was slightly smaller. Suddenly, he grinned, like a hyena, and his LEDs did one bright strobe, an attempt to momentarily blind his opponent, and dug into the wet sand, muscles straining, as he charged head on towards Lizardman. Assuming his tactic had worked, he angled his body so he ended up on his opponent's left side where he aimed a crunching snap of a bite at the fleshy part of the Lizard's shoulder where wing met shoulder bone. Following this attack he turned immediately away clockwise until his ass was square in his opponents face, he pushed out a thunderously stinky fart, and kicked out with both hind feet in the direction of the horse's left shoulder before retreating a few steps and turning back about. Spaceballs, he was going to have to lay off on the wild beans.

Another came, silent save for the irregular beat of hooves against sand. Ears tilted forward as head turned toward his opponent, and the massive stallion paused in mild bemusement to observe the approach of what was easily the oddest creature he'd ever had the priviledge of witnessing.

It was a black stallion, near his equal in height, but adorned in the most peculiar manner. Short-cropped mane was streaked in bright hues that were most definitely not natural, especially considering that they glowed in the gathering dark. Along the fellow's face and neck were rounded lumps of something or other, which seemed to share in some of that inner light. Odd.

An appropriately deep voice rumbled from his fellow combatant, speaking words which seemed to be mostly nonsense, and the dragon-son snorted softly. "Welcome to the arena of battle, Noise. I am Vikram." His own voice vibrated from deep within his chest, a grating and little-used baritone that held whispering hints of a reptilian-like hiss.

Vikram was well aware that Noise was using the distraction of conversation to edge closer, but he wasn't expecting what happened next. Those strange, dimly limit protruberances suddenly flashed brilliantly bright. Startled, he jerked his head up and back while vertical pupils narrowed rapidly to slits, reducing the inevitable afterimages but not eliminating them entirely. The sand under-hoof vibrated with the oncoming thunder of rapidly approaching hooves. Ears angled back as he snaked his head toward the oncoming Noise, lips curling back to expose a set of sharp fangs amongst the blunt teeth that others possessed, which he aimed in fierce snaps to catch hold of the steed's left side.

By this time his gaze cleared, and he snorted with pain as the other stallion's teeth caught on his shoulder, bringing bruises blooming to the surface beneath his coppery coat. But a smug smile followed that snort as he watched the dark stallion veer away to the left. With deliberate force he swung his long and heavy tail, sporting its sword-sharp spur at the tip, to his left and right toward Noise. Should he connect, it would cut into the colorful stallion's left side. To lend the swing greater reach, he swung his forequarters to the right, which allowed him to dodge the kick but not quite the foul stench of the unexpected fart which made him wrinkle his nose. Undignified, to say the least.

Sure and deliberate Vikram allowed his pivoting to bring him in a nearly complete circle until he stood broadside to Noise, undamaged right side exposed but head and tail curved toward his sparring partner, daring the other to charge again. His wings were lifted as well, tilted forward so the trailing edges rose straight up in the air and the solid joint that held each spar anchored hovered just above head level. Come and try that again.

The cyborg nearly beeped with joy, had he the ability to, as his teeth met where they had been intended to grab. Granted, this success almost had come with a price....if his left side had been flesh of course. The first bite swung his way was dutifully ignored though the metal on teeth sound was horrendous as they bounced off. His left eye briefly flashed the display and showed two small dents in the metal by his neck which he, surprisingly, found quite attractive,"Ooh, snakebites, very sexy my dear lizard. his deep voice rumbled out. He was proud, for, unlike the beastly dragon, he didn't have a lisp which reminded him of his old gay friend Billy who sold glowsticks. With a manly giggle added on to the end and a brief tongue-sticking-out moment he bounced about and had finished kicking out, after his glorious fart, when out of no where came this giant scorpion-like tail thing aimed right at his left side, again, "Spaceballs!" he yelled as he dodged away just in time to avoid any real scraping minus a scratch which began at his hip and went straight back until his butt ended. How unfortunately hideous. Snakebites were fashionable, "keying" his shiny metal was decidedly not.

He roared furiously, his mechanics whirring from all the movement as they emitted warm heat against the cool wet sand. How dare this beast scratch up his chrome! Upon turning about he saw the Lizardman had assumed a rather annoying defensive stance. Well space waste and Zorlogs he was quite screwed. But, ahhh, yes the sand! Hit me baby one more time, his opponent's head was curved towards him, right side closest, which left him no available attack. However, he could, himself, still move freely. So he did.

Noise turned and thrust forward, beginning to circle his opponent in a counter clockwise motion several strides away from the draconian horse's actual body. He feints once towards the shoulder with a quick dodge in to disarm and confuse and then continued about at a trot. Moments later, when his hind end was in line with Vikram's face, he thrust deep into the sand and kicked it up with his feet, flinging sand in the direction of the horse's face with the aim to block his eyes. He then continued the circle for another stride until his face was at the Draconian's left flank, his ass again in Lizardman's face, and his left side was closest to his opponent while his right faced outwards. There, still hoping his opponent was stunned by the sand he aimed a bite at the horse's fleshy flank and pulled down, hoping to rip the horses hide down to the scales. Following this attack he kicked out with his powerful hind feet in the direction of the Lizardman's head, in order to prevent any attempts at his butt and while the bite was going on, and runs away two strides to relative safety. His breath was coming hard now from all the running and effort at quick movement. Usually he could just charge a horse and stay close: most horses didn't have a scorpion tail. Bloody genetic mutations...they were always getting in the way of a fun fight.

What might have been satisfaction was quickly warped to pain and surprise when his teeth bounced off of something hard. Being half blind by glowy afterimages, Vikram assumed he'd hit one of those damned lights... until his tail lash wrought one of the most ear-piercing sounds he'd ever heard on Noise's abnormally hard left side. But it wasn't until the brief moment between attacks while Noise decided how best to go about coming in at him again that the huge stallion got a chance to assess the damage. His tongue probed his aching teeth, to find them still well-set if painful. A temporary pain, then.

It was then that the black steed began to circle out around the hybrid, and Vikram turned his head warily to watch, his muscles tensing even as he began to formulate a battle plan of his own. Barely did he flinch from the feint, golden eyes watching his opponent's every move. He saw the flex of muscles on the right side of the odd creature's haunches just before Noise sought to kick up the wet sand into his face, and Vikram reared, his weight rocking back onto his powerful haunches and his tail firmly placed against the ground to brace his body as he rose clear of the sand, barely noticing the light sensation of the clumps bouncing off his heavy scales.

Noise was coming in again for another attack then, and Vikram lunged for him. His huge wings beat the air, threatening to bludgeon the other stallion upside the head while forelegs reached to hook over Noise's back and his neck arched up and over. The left side was impervious, but there was musculature on the right, and Vikram had every intention of getting his muzzle over to Noise's right side and sinking his teeth into that fleshy shoulder. He felt those teeth, meant for his own shoulder, glance off of the flesh of his barrel and into heavy scales while the other stallion's haunches rose and fell in a defensive buck that touched briefly against the leathery skin of Vikram's right wing. Something felt but entirely painless.

But then the black steed was surging off again, slipping out from beneath Vikram's reach... but had his teeth found purchase, the huge stallion meant to hold on until flesh gave way to metal or air. Hooves touched sand again with a heavy thump, and his left wing let it be known that it hurt more now with all that activity after being bruised at the joint. He acknowledged the pain with a low grunt before charging after Noise. By now he suspected the fancy-footed stallion was getting out of breath from all that dodging in and out. Now it was his turn.

While they were of similar height, Vikram was heavier, and he fully meant to employ that advantage now. He charged toward Noise, intending to take the other stallion by surprise and slam into the other just when the bright stallion would stop a few strides from the center of battle as he had done earlier. With any luck, he would hit chest first into the black stallion's left side, armor hiding armor. And with even more luck, Noise would have difficulty with his organic right side in the sandy footing and stagger... or go down.

He grinned with satisfaction as his Lizzard-Man opponent's teeth scraped along his side. Ahh, they never saw it coming did they? Always like having the Fifth Element fall through the roof of your taxi cab, thinks Noise with a giggle. His feint got only a minor flinch from his opponent, somewhat of a disappointment for that meant tricks held little sway with this one.

He circled and made his attack and, rather unfortunately, his bite only glanced off the targeted area. Glowsticks this bloody bugger was going to be difficult. And then the thing, like, side mounted him or something, and began flailing about which was, in all honesty, a bit weird even for him. I mean, he'd done some weird shiz in his time, but side mounting was another thing entirely...he did not do it up the butt, thank you very much. The kick, designed to keep a bite from occurring is nullified then and Noise is at a loss. Especially since the Beast's wings are bashing down on his mane. They're mostly soft leather, but every once in a while a bone will hit annoyingly on his neck or something causing a small bruise, but nothing more. He realizes then, that the stallion isn't really mounting him from the side but kindof hovering...he still seriously does not know whats going on though. A sharp pull of pain on his back as the reaching stallion's teeth start to bounce and scrape on hide pushes him out from under the odd position as he finally makes his escape away when he hears the thuds of pursuit.

The dragon-like being, humping the ground with his thudding stride(though not really, he just had the need to feel justified in his previously precarious situation.), the giant barrels towards him. With quick thinking, he deduces he is caught like a splorf bug on a spaceshield. Therefore, he goes calmly decides to go all Braveheart on that dude's ass and charge like a psychotic monkey on crack.

He makes it approximately two hefty strides, charging head on, before the two meet as Noise catapults his whole weight into his opponent. His left, metal shoulder, takes the hit as it meets with a flat patch of fellow metal scales on the left half of the giant's front. The air is knocked from him momentarily, a feeling he knows the Lizzard must similarly be feeling as well. He holds his stance and continues to push forward with all his weight and strength, his feet digging in to the sand for purchase and slipping ever so slightly until he firms them up, causing them to shake with the effort.

As the air is knocked from him, he knows also that his neck is right next to the space-devil's eyes and therefore he flashes his lights, once more, with a brilliant strobe-light flash. Hoping this has disoriented the Beast he aims down to rip a chunk of skin from the left side of his opponent's neck. Then he realizes that scales, while similar to metal plating, are not a seamless surface and, in fact, scales can be removed. So he follows up his aimed bite with another aimed attack at a scale just below the spot where he aimed his bite and attempts to gain purchase beneath the scale and rip it off, hopefully causing great pain and some blood as well.
I hope you bleed blood, Lizzard
He roared as he huffed and sweated with the effort of his battle. The scrapes and bruises he'd accumulated from past attacks ached with a satisfactory pain, one that gave him pleasure of a good fight. All the while he was vigilant for the appearance of that ghastly tail.

Quiet satisfaction was his reward when his half-aerial assault left his opponent baffled and unsure. While the occasional connection of wing spars with flesh and metal hurt, none hit solidly enough to raise any alarm. A few days on the ground would see those bruises healed without any risk of straining anything. And it was immensely gratifying to discover that his teeth had caught flesh, however briefly, before the half metallic stallion scrambled away.

But then he was charging at Noise, only to discover that the crazy stallion was charging back! The hybrid only had time for a short snorting chuckle of amazement before their bodies collided like two out of control freight trains, the thump seemingly bone brushing save for the fact that metal met scales instead of muscle-padded shoulder. What it did achieve was knocking the air out of Vikram with a grunt, head jerking forward as its momentum lasted just that little bit longer than the rest of his body. Massive hooves dug briefly into the sand, until a thought bubbled to the surface and he allowed himself to be pushed. This whole tactic would have worked better had Noise not lit himself up like a flaming pack of hunting dragons again.

Blinded by afterglow in his left eye, the hybrid swung his head to the right, body being pushed further that way by the driving force of his bizarre opponent. Teeth dug at his neck, pinching and bruising but unable to get a solid grip as that plane of flesh was turned perpendicular to the raking teeth that lacked the fangs the hybrid possessed. The next tugging bite, pulling at the edge of one expansive scale, was too much to tolerate.

With an annoyed rumbling roar the bay stallion swung sharply away to his right, yanking away from grasping teeth that had tried so hard to peel scales from flesh... and bringing that massive tail around again. This time it came from behind, and directly for Noise's fleshy right side that would have been all too easily exposed by this desperate last push. It wasn't aimed, not with Vikram still blinking against the lingering afterglow, so it was more likely to bring the fleshy length of the appendage into legs or side. Yet Vikram wasn't content with just a brief swing. Again he pivoted an entire circle, allowing this last attack full extension. With any luck his spur would catch on flesh or perhaps a metallic leg as it swept after the rest of his tail. Or perhaps the tip would rake a gash down the meaty side of a fleeing Noise. It didn't really matter how it connected, so long as it achieved getting this bizarre creature off of him.

Noise

Raaaaahhhh, CLASH! ra, ra, shish koum bah! Ahem, the thud from their gargantuan bodies clashing was deafening. It was like the collision of two semi trucks mixed with the dullness of two rams butting heads and both magnified tenfold too. It made Noise smile for sounds like these and crushing and clanking with muscles straining were the things of his dreams and food to his wants. This was, indeed, a great and beastly fight.

The Lizzardman's head flings away and his body starts to lean as the cyborg swings his half metal head and jaw about to clamp down upon the Beast's neck. Alas, he comes to late, and the Zorg-licker(different from zorLOGs mind you) has moved his neck enough to allow Noise only the slightest of purchase upon the beasts hide. Some hair comes off but not much else. His bite at the scales though, that really gets the Dragon-Horse riled up. While Noise cannot really tell if there is any blood or if there is any amount of pain, he surely knows he's at least found some purchase in pain when the gold bay roared and turned away.

Noise was triumphant for only a moment before he saw the spiked tail swinging his way and uttered a curse, "Bloody glowing spaceballs" as he heaved his tired body with one last great thrust of energy. It took all his effort to attempt the dodge, and even that does not allow him exemption from the angry lash of the spikes. As he moves the edges of the spike just scrape his butt and leave a gash of medium size and depth before leaving his skin once more.

Though not serious, the cyborg roars in the form of a fairly loud grumble, at the relatively small wounds. Blood slowly seeps out but does not pour freely as Noise stops and turns about to face his opponent, panting and heaving his sides. He had gained some bruises today, along with some minor blood-letters, and a decent amount of pain. But all was well worth it, for it had been a rousing fight. He looked over at his opponent and gave him a wide, manly grin of brotherhood and spoke, " That was a glorious spar Vikram. I don't think I've gotten to work my muscles that much in ages." Having honored the stallion by calling him by his true name, a very rare occasion for battles, he continued "I wouldn't half mind sparing with you again in fact, fellow Space Warrior."

Blinking away at last the worst of the after-image, save for a few hovering black spots that haunted his vision, Vikram came about to regard Noise. Ears twitched in surprise to see that he'd actually gotten in a pretty good hit with his tail, and he unconsciously flicked his tail to rid himself of any trace of that wound. A chuckle and a grin rose in response to the black stallion's words. "I enjoyed myself as well, Noise. It would be grand to do this again sometime... after we've rested." Even if the hybrid knew that the other stallion was easily way more weary than he was, he wouldn't rub it in. His own aches were starting to nag at him, small in their individual state but quite painful altogether. A rest would do him just as much good.

NOISE -- post 3

[Realism]
+ 1| Defense: allowing wing beats on the head
+ 1| Defense: taking a bite to the side.
- 1| Defense: charging at Vik in this situation seems like a very Noise thing to do, but considering the angles, I'm not really sure how he would turn around fast enough to charge at all. He is very large, making a sharp turn even more difficult.
+ 1 Attempt to blind Vik with LED lights.
+ 1 Attack: biting at the neck to remove scales.
- 1 Forward movement mentioned after the ram is suddenly abandoned during the attack.

[Prose]
+ 2| Emotion
0| Easy read - the description of movement and position was confusing in this post, but the rest was really straightforward.
+ 1| Flow

VIKRAM -- post 3

[Realism]
+ 1| Taking damage to the wings from own attack.

Comments: Noise is always present in your posts. I know exactly who I am dealing with, craziness and all. He uses his cyborg half to his advantage, both the metal and lights, and I thought that you fought smartly. Sometimes, I feel you had problems looking at the situation as a continuous flow of time. You definitely kept humor up in your posts, which made this pleasurable to read. I would like to see you work on flow in your posts. Things seem a bit choppy when going from attack to attack, as well as the little personality interjections. Overall, you did very well!

Comments: Great job! I knew exactly what Vikram was doing the entire time, but he still remained present in all of your posts. I think strategically you are a fantastic problem solver during fights, and you manage to use a lot of the opponent's attacks to your advantage. I think you could stand to gain a bit more emotion in your posts, even though the circumstances of this spar made it very casual. Also, do not forget about your environment! Use the terrain as well as your character to help you in a fight.
