The fae was resting in the hot spring, her lids closed over her emeralds. She thought she heard voices, her audits flickering as she heard heavy hoof steps. She tried to ignore them, but blinked open her eyes after a few heart beats, her emeralds revealed to the world. Fluttering her lashes, she stepped out of the pool, her coat soaking wet. Frowning, she shook her coat a little almost like a dog, spreading hot drops of water. She whipped her tail, the air whistling as she whipped it. Plenty of water was still soaked up in her hair, but she ignored that and walked forward. Her cloven hooves clicked against the rock as she marched forward, realizing there was something off.

She halted, gazing around. She couldn't place her hoof on it, but there was definitely something going on. She just needed to figure it out. She heaved a sigh, thinking about her mother for a quick moment. She had left the Basin what felt like ages ago, but what was in fact a few days ago. She missed her despite the fact she had only just left. Maybe it was just something that children feel when a parent leaves them? She pushed her mother from her crania, paying attention to the present.

She strode through the cold, dark land, emeralds darting about, trying to spot a life form somewhere. She huffed, her warm breath curling up and vanishing into the cold Basin air. She kept her ears perked, wondering why the Basin seemed empty, hollow. She began galloping, taking the easiest route to the border, hoping she could spot something from there. She let her legs move fluently, her strides long and coordinated.

Her roan body moved through the Basin, a shadow in the dark. Her lithe body slid through the Basin, reaching the border soon enough. All she saw was the vast expanse of the dark, the Steppe stretching before her, a never ending stretch. The stars and the moon lit up the icy ground, but the fae couldn't see all that far, for it was much too dark.

"Speech."

I had only been sleeping, my eyes shut and the cool air that gazed over the Steppe and wafered into the Arch surrounding my body. It wasn't cold or bothering me as my body was used to the cold air. I'm not sure about how long it was before everything went to hell.
The earth shook with anger, throwing my thin body about over the ice floor. I didn't know where anyone was at, and alone, I stumbled out of the cave with my vision blurred. Through the blurred sight, I could see Unicorns. So many of them charging together to an unknown place, heading somewhere. Fright struck me like lightning, and in their stampede, I got caught up in the masses, and was some how dragged into the mountain pass that led me into the Basin. Mom had always told me never to go into the Aurora Basin as they were our neighbors and it's best not to bother them, but today, there was something going on there. It could effect my family, and cause things to happen that I wasn't ready to accept yet. I blinked in the moonlight, trying to climb through the mountain pass. I had respected their scent markers and at times just climbed the mountains half way just to see what the place looked like, seeing a few members going about their daily business. I never bothered them, up until today.
My hooves were hurting by the time I got to the top of the mountain pass, and overlooked the Basin. It had always seemed empty when I looked upon it, but today, you could actually feel the lack of souls. Where was everyone? There was not any sign of danger, fire, or insane natural event going on in the darkness, so there had to be an inside reason as of to move out in the way that they had done. I wanted to go down there, just to make sure everything was alright. You would do the same if your neighbors were all suddenly running from their home in a stampede, right? So I'm trespassing, I'm only being neighborly and checking up on them.
The descent for me began when I tried to slide on my hooves through the snow towards the border, and slipped. I rolled down the mountain, screaming the whole way. How had they even got up the mountain when they were moving that fast? They must of gotten used to it over time, so I'll make it through if I can just get used to it.
My stop was abrupt the moment I hit a snowdrift. It exploded, snow flying upwards in every which way. My small head raised upwards, the pale glow from it exiling me out in the darkness. I knew already that I had crossed their borders without even meaning too, and was fast to return to my hooves. I stood with such lack of grace, I must of been a newborn fawn. My legs didn't want to work with me when I moved that fast, but I got tried at a canter. Again, fear got me again when I heard the sound of hooves.
Oh no.
So, here I am, partically commiting home invasion when I fell into my neighbor's home. In the darkness, I couldn't see who it was, but maybe they could be kind and had seen me fall down the pass while trying to check on them. My trespassing wasn't meant to be a trespass, it was making sure everything was okay.
I couldn't move past them, for now I could see them. It was foal, not too older than me. They stood alone, flicking a strange tail back and forth that reminded me of a cat's. They were one of those people that didn't look to frightening, so there was the chance they wouldn't kill me for my mistake. My head was lowered, ears straight forward, glowing horn showing the words in my pale blue eyes that said 'I'm sorry.'
"Excuse me, please, please, don't kill me. I'm Sikeax, Doctor for the Assassins. We live at the Arch just near by, and I was sleeping when suddenly the whole herd just took off past my home. I thought maybe I could be neighborly and check up on you, just to make sure there wasn't something bad happening. I was coming down the pass when some ice under the snow caught my balance and I fell down the mountain. I didn't mean to trespass, and I just want to get to the other side of the borders just so that we can be on even terms."
What tone I carried in my child's voice said that I was telling every bit of the truth with fear. I scrampered like a dog that was sure it was in trouble, moving past them with great haste just to reach the other side of the border. Oh, I messed up big time. My hooves got me to the other side of the border, or at least what I thought was the border, and just to make sure, I went a good five feet away from the border.
"I'm really sorry. Please don't be mad." They were nothing more than a whisper. This would be the only time that they would see me in such a way, when I trespassed on our neighbor's land. Again, it would be nice if she didn't kill me.

If you could hear me then, can you hear me now?

"If you wish to live another day, filly, you'll turn around now and leave my home. Stay, and face death."

To say that Aviya was annoyed at the intruding foal would be an understatement. The smokey black yearling slunk next to Frost Fyre, tail lashing behind her impatiently. Her dark ears pinned back, almost getting lost in the thick tresses of frosted mane. Aviya, a soldier of the Throat and of the Plague, was not going to sit around and take kindly to intruders, accidental or not. In these times, the Basin was not to be fooled. They were to be feared. A simple step to the side could demolish this little girl's family in the Arch. "We're surrounded by mountains for a reason, thick-head, we don't like visitors." Aviya's blue eyes narrowed darkly, and she took a step forward. At her heels, thick tendrils of fog appeared, creeping out and away from her. Her magic, with the return of the Moon, was weaker than when the world was right, but it aided her well when she needed it.

Doctor? PAH. This foolish brat before her was nothing but a whelp! She probably did not even know the difference between nightshade and blood root. Yes, d'Artagnan had taught his daughter well. She knew what could kill and what could aid, after all, the dark princess was to take after someone one day, was she not? The Nightshade progeny was a sparkling little devil, she was. "My father's a doctor, too, but I bet even he couldn't save you from the injuries I can give you." Aviya tilted her head forward, chin tucking down. Her horn, dangerously sharp now, a shard of death upon her brow, glinted eerily in the moonlight, pointed straight for Sikeax's head. "I assure you, my herdmates would be less of a pleasure than I am."

Keep your head down
Untill I tell you to speak

A R A H

Voices ahead. Her golden orbs turned forward and she began moving a run. The Impersonator was on high alert, the Basin warriors were currently in another area. She was doing a patrol, protecting the borders. No outsider would just be able to come in and take their home from underneath them. Not on her watch any way. Her nimble and sleek body blended in with the snow, her approach silent and graceful. Three figures were in the distance, three figures that were about to become acquainted with her antlers if they were not friendlies or family. Slowing down, Arah studied the first subject of her fury. A little outsider far from home and certainly not apart of the Basin. The smell on her coat was the fresh wilds, it wafted up to her, and the Impersonator narrowed her eyes at the filly with rage. Then her orbs swivelled to the others, both were members of her family. One, the doctors daughter seemed to be thinking along the same lines as her. What on earth was the other doing talking to this little filly? Even if she hadn't actually heard what had been said, Arah needed to put a stop to this little tea party right now.

Turning away from the members of her family, Arah turned and also faced the younger filly who didn't belong here. Deal with the obvious threat first, then she was interrogate the other one. Her tones were laced in poison, Arah held herself haughtily and proudly, dominating over the filly. "If you do not leave now, I will cause you so much pain, that with every last breath you muster, you'll be screaming for me to kill you." It was horridly mean and something Arah would never actually do. The white doe could never bring herself to cause so much harm to another living creature. Even in spars, when Arah was being kicked, bitten and stabbed, she always worried about how much harm she was about to cause the other. At this very moment though, Arah didn't care about how much she scared the younger being. She would defend The Basin in any way that she could.

Her home's defences might be a little weaker, but they were still a strong force. Not all of the warriors had left, her leaders were not stupid. It was not like they headed off to war and left The Basin unprotected. Hell, Arah could really do some damage. If anyone was stupid enough to believe that they could attack and win The Basin just because a few warriors were missing, they had a whole other thing coming for them.

Arah bent down, putting her face close to the outsiders. "Move. On."

She was oblivious of the child who was trespassing, but she swore she sensed a presence. She had turned her back to the border, deciding this was all just a dream or something along those lines. Maybe she was still dozing off in the hot spring in the corner of the Basin? Or was this reality? She lashed her tail, continuing to walk slowly. Something nagged at her, and she tore around, expecting some monster or something like that.

It was a foal.

Straightening out, she frowned a little as a black and white filly approached. She started snarling at the youngling, threatening her. "Stop it! Where the heck is the respect here? I don't see it! Surely you know you should be kind to your kin. And she's only a child. Surely you've made a mistake like this once or twice." This young child did not belong to the Basin, especially because she did not smell like unicorns of the Basin. Don't kill her? Why would the fae kill one of her brethren? She looked at the little babe, smiling. She saw the glowing horn on her head, so she knew to take kindly to the youngling. She introduced herself as Sikeax, telling the fae she is a doctor for the 'Assassins' tilting her head, the fae wondered what the 'Assassins' were. They sounded like mercenaries, or, assassins... as their name suggests. She listened closely to what the filly had to say. The herd... marching? Cocking her head, the fae wondered what she meant. Her herd was gone? But to where? If they had gone past the Arch, they had to be headed somewhere... but where? The fae's thoughts were interrupted by another snarling mare, this one completely white.

She said she had come to see if anything bad had happened, but from what the fae knew, nothing horrible had happened... not lately anyway. The filly said she had stumbled into the Basin, not meaning to. The fae softened her gaze, opening her dark lips to speak. "Please, she's a young foal." Pausing, the fae inhaled. "I can lead her to the border, make sure she gets out of the Basin... if you trust me." the fae pointed in the general direction of the border, almost spitting her last sentence. "It won't take long, the border is right over there." She didn't smile, but kept a straight face. But quickly, subtly, she slipped a little smile to the little champagne filly. She turned around, beginning to walk forward, hoping her own herdmates trusted her enough. As she did, the child muttered something about not being mad. She hoped the little babe was following her. Turning to where the babe should be, she smiled. "Now why would I be mad? I see no reason.. unlike them... Children make mistakes now and then, this is one of them. Those two just don't realize it." She forgave the little unicorn, for wasn't she supposed to be kind to her own kin? And she was supposed to be kind to foals as well.

Right?

"Speech."

We build cathredrals to our pain
Establish monuments to attain

The strangest thing had happened to the Weaver, leaving him cold and even more irritated than usual. Early the previous day, a sleet had begun to fall, and at first, the stallion had thought it just normal Basin weather. But eventually, it became more and more apparent that this sleet wasn't falling over the Basin, but over him, and only him. Considering the absence of the sun and the already chilling climate of the Basin, as well as the fact that this sleet seemed to follow him even into his beloved cave, Crowley was absolutely miserable.

Lying against his shivering master, Talbot did his best to bring comfort and relief to the stallion, though it seemed there was absolutely nothing he could do to help. In his current position, the sleet was pelting him as well, but it didn't affect him quite like it did Crowley. If not for the lack of magic in the land, the young pup might have sought somebody with fire producing magic to come to Crowley's aide, but nobody came to mind. For the most part, magic was out of the question for Helovia's inhabitants, leaving the pair to rely on more natural ways to produce heat and keep the Weaver from losing his mind in a freeze-driven rage.

'If you do not leave now,' the words suddenly caught in the hellhound's ears, causing him to snap his head up to attention as he peered out of the mouth of the cave, growing rigid as he strained to listen and relay the message to Crowley in return. 'I will cause you so much pain, that with every last breath you muster, you'll be screaming for me to kill you.'

Stallion and hound exchanged glances for a brief moment, and although Crowley would much rather stay where he was and wait this god-forsaken curse out, the thought of another incessant intruder marching into their home without a care in the world caused a scowl to mar the Weaver's face. How dare they. "Come on," came his voice with more venom than was necessary towards his trusted companion, and with that he hauled himself back up to his feet, gave a shake to rid him temporarily of the sleet pelting his coat, and off the pair went.

There were four of them, all of which he knew by name except for the youngest. Crowley hadn't heard why she was here, but judging by the reactions of both Arah and the Time Mender's daughter, Aviya, it couldn't have been a very good one. As Crowley approached, his head dropped and his ears slicked back, teeth baring as golden eyes locked onto the champagne coat of the filly. "Get the hell out of my sight, outsider," he warned, but his attention was soon snapped up by the words of the spotted one he remembered as Frost Fyre.

Wheeling towards her and facing her, Crowley surely looked as though he was about to loose his lid. Which he was. "Why, what an excellent question; I always find myself wondering where the respect is when somebody intrudes my home without a fucking care in the world. I don't care if she's young, she shouldn't be here. Where are her parents? Certainly not responsible enough to keep an eye on a child which could so easily be killed by wandering somewhere they don't belong." A step was taken closer to the appaloosa then, and the brindle was fuming at the words that continued to fall from the filly's mouth.

"Aviya is just as old as you are, and I can assure you that she's not made such a dire 'mistake' as this before. It wasn't a fact that the brindle knew for sure, of course, but the young soldier was quite intelligent for her age. "Maybe instead of escorting this thing out, we should just keep it here. Y'know... so the parents can learn the mistake they've made, too. It will be a lovely family reunion, don't you think?"

I had already been trying my best to get myself out of there when there was a voice yelling at me. My head was hung low, my back arched down, and a look of complete fear over me that made me look as if I was a dog having stones thrown at it as it scramped away. At that time, I should of broke into a break neck run, but fear froze me into place. Within my throat, a sob choked me, and before long, tears might as well fall from my eyes. What happened to make this all worse happened to be the fact that the glow from stub of a horn showed every single piece of my fear.
Why didn't it just fall off already?
My heart skipped a beat as the female voice yelled at me more, my brain yelling at me inside my head. Those words it was telling me that day was something I'd never forget. GOD DAMMIT SIKEAX, KICK IT INTO TURBO AND RUN LIKE HELL OUT OF THERE!!!!!!!!!!! Each word was louder than any yell I'd ever heard before, hidden away into my skull so that no one was able to hear just how scared I was. After she, whoever she happened to be, stopped yelling at me, there was more sounds of movements behind me. More words were being yelled at me, having each threat thrown at me. Already, brain was being mean to me as of why I hadn't run out of there when I had the chance to. See what you did there? Now you're screwed.
Something told me to turn around and look at them, just to let them know that I acknowledged their words and how they were just that mean to me. I only wanted to make sure everyone was okay, and then maybe even try to help out in any way that I could find possible, but that seems such a distant memory now. "I'm sorry. I really am. Can.... Can I please leave? I didn't mean to trepass. I stumbled at the pass and sort of fell down the mountain. That snowdrift over there-" I motioned with my glowing head, swinging it in the direction of the drift that I collided into after I turned to meet their icy stares. It still held the shape of my body as I slammed into it. Not that hard to see that I had rolled into it, or where they blind? "-and all I want to do is leave so I'm not bothering you. I thought maybe something went wrong....." Like as if a fucking nuclear bomb was dropped on the place or something.
By this time, there was a broken horn shoved into my face, becoming dangerously close to my eyes. The sight of it was sort of comical, and if I wasn't freaking out and about to pee myself (luckily I didn't, no one needed to see me do that and I would probably die of embarrassment), I could of laughed at the sight of it. I knew too well that this girl wasn't going to be nice to me at any point, and when it was forced closer, I backed away and almost stumbled over my own small hooves. The glow from my horn was dim, but it magnified every bit of my emotion.
And at that time, the only emotion I was actually feeling was the fear you get that almost makes you pee yourself pants.
What are pants either way?
Right as I was about to turn tail and run, there was a voice that actually stood out for me, standing up to be my saving grace when everyone else was wanting to kill me. She was beautiful if you asked me, more beautiful than Mom was any way. Her words were proud, and when she smiled at me, I released a whimper, scared of the idea that she might even take me out of here just to chew me out just for herself. She didn't seem like that type of person, but I couldn't really trust anyone here as of now.
"Could she just take me out here please? I won't ever come back, seeing as this place is filled to the brim already with those who lack manners." For saying that, I could of even signed my own death certificate. I was already inside their home, and even though I was backing up, my pace wasn't going to get me anywhere unless I turned around and just really kicked it into turbo. I even had doubts over that idea, seeing as my legs felt like they were made of jelly.
There was another voice (Damn, is the whole herd coming to yell at me or something?), this time a male's. He yelled at the girl who was nice enough to try to escort me out, and then threatened me with imprisonment here. Snow and cold air never was too much of a bother to me, since I spent almost all of my life at the Arch. My first days were at the Foothills, where Mom was stuck at when she birthed me. It seemed as if I was made just to be a prisoner because of stupid things like this. "Please, can I just leave? I promise I won't ever come back."
Right about that time then, there was the first of tears that would be followed by many of its companions, and the sob that had been choking me through blurred speak let me breathe. If I broke down in front of them now, they would probably keep me here forever and no one would want to rescue me.

If you could hear me then, can you hear me now?
