Varath:
Varath, a few days old now, was wild and practically uncontrollable. Though he still relied on his mother, he was vastly independent and enjoyed exploring everything. The two eyed colt tumbled around on long, gangly legs, black and crimson tail straight in the air with pride. Despite the fact that he was independent, he found himself very close to his brother. Vadim was a comfort to him, and he appreciate the company.

Often, Varath would stare and envy his brother's blue, unique markings, but then he looked at his reflection and would admire the silver and crimson qualities of his irises. The pair had quite a frightening appearance together. That afternoon in the Foothills, as his mother called it, he had just woken up from a nap and sought out his brother. He had the sudden urge to prank someone, but he did not know whom. "Vadim!" he called in a small voice of a child. "Vadim!"

Vadim:

He was the predator and he was stalking his prey. The little grey colt crept along as silently as he could behind his prey. Wherever there was a bush or a tree he would dive behind it and hide so he wouldn't be seen. When his attack came it would be unexpected. He would make his prey, who just so happened to be his brother, scream like a scared little filly.

"Vadim! Vadim!"

His ears lowered against his head and he tried to shrink down into nothing behind the bush he was using as cover. He could just barely see Varath, but he knew that his brother wasn't looking at him. His short, fuzzy tail wiggled back and forth excitedly as he decided that Varath didn't know he was there.

Vadim waited only a few seconds more before charging out from behind the bush with a ferocious roar. ."Raaaaahhhhhhhh!" Whether or not Varath or anyone listening thought it was frightening or ferocious was up to them, but Vadim thought he was damn scary.

Varath stomped a small hoof impatiently and looked around for his brother, his back to a bunch of bushes. The charcoal colt grunted in frustration and began to march forward when a sudden rustling and roaring came from behind him. With a small yelp, Varath tucked his black and crimson tail between his legs and shot forward. He stumbled and turned around, chin tucked to his chest and horn at the ready.

What he saw behind him was Vadim, and the young colt filled with rage at his brother making him out to be a fool. Varath took a running start and yelled angrily, dual colored eyes flashing with barely controlled fury. He aimed to barrel into his brother, shoulder first. "You are such an ass!" he yelled, using a curse.

After their scuffle, Varath stood close to his brother and tucked his chin over Vadim's white crest. "Good trick. We need to use that more often," he commented, his devious mind running through all sorts of possibilities. Apparently they had sisters. He wanted to meet them and scare them too.

Laughter swelled in the colt's chest and burst forth as his brother yelped and began to run away. He nearly fell to the ground, double over in laughter but he braced his legs apart so he would remain standing. It was a good thing he had done that, too, because moments later Varath was yelling at him and charging. Their shoulders collided and Vadim wobbled and stumbled, but remained standing. "Cry baby!" He yelled at his brother. "Don't be such a candy ass!" He didn't know exactly what that meant, but he was sure it was an insult.

The pale colt snorted and narrowed his blue eyes on his darker brother and stomped his blue hoof into the ground. It only took a few moments for their scuffle and name calling to be over before they were standing together. He allowed his brother to stand with his muzzle over his crest and listened as he complimented the trick and said that they should use it sometime. "Too bad it wouldn't scare dad." he said in disappointment. "I'd love to hear him scream like a girl like you did."

The laughter. The laughter was what truly added fuel to the flames of his temper. Being called a cry baby was worse. Being called a candy ass, whatever that meant, was just too far. Angrily, Varath collided with his brother, and they scuffled until the young charcoal colt felt sufficiently vindicated. When Vadim said that the trick would not scare their father, he frowned. Then, another insult flew his way, and the charcoal colt snarled audibly, his expressing twisting angrily.

"I did not scream like a girl," he barked sternly. After a deep breath, the colt calmed once more, and he thought about his father. "We have sisters. Maybe them?" he suggested. Varath's mind had been stuck on their older siblings for some time now. "Have you ever seen them? Apparently one of them looks like dad."

"I did not scream like a girl."

Vadim snorted and rolled his eyes at his darker brother. "Whatever." He grunted. "You still were scared. I bet you almost wet yourself." The pale colt snickered. He could almost imagine Varath being scared to the point of peeing everywhere. It made him decide that that was his next goal.

"I know we have sisters." He answered back. "But if we're gonna get them then we gotta find 'em first. Got any idea where they are?" He certaintly didn't have any clue as to where to start looking for them. When Varath asked if he had seen them he shook his head, but continued to listen. One of them looked like their dad? "Well then she shouldn't be too hard to find." Not if they knew what they were looking for.
