The egg begins to warm under Nayati's tender tough. As Sikeax said himself, his tail was too wet and his body to young and small. When the beautiful mare touched the egg, it began to softly glow, and it had chosen its mate. Nayati would have to continue to care for the egg to ensure its survival, but that seemed to not be an issue as it was safe, warm and growing.

In two weeks' time, the little creature inside will burst forth and a bond will form.
