shining in the darkness - Serenity - 03-14-2016 Serenity She had taken her time after leaving the World's Edge and its Leads' sides, allowing her nerves to calm as she wandered and tried to learn more of what the land held. She could not yet say that she had found anything of interest, but how would she even know if she did? She had no ideas of what was or was not revered in those parts. Elsa had briefly mentioned that the different areas were ruled by gods, but the starry girl had yet to come across anyone else who spoke of them. And she never pressed for answers.
She went in the direction the white queen had motioned to previously, and thought back to the words spoken. She would need to find Gaucho, the one who would help her. They were said to be open to welcoming her, but she carried on in trepidation, careful to not get too ahead of herself. Through the passing time she began to have doubts as to whether she should even be searching for her memories; maybe she had lost them for a reason. Maybe the things she experienced in the time after her escape from slavery were worse than what still remained. But still she pressed on, resolving to gain back whatever she could to find out who she was, what she had made of herself. She only hoped she wouldn't be disappointed. It grew warmer the further she walked on, until she decided perhaps an aerial view would be suit her in finding the so-called desert. She bunched her hind legs underneath her body and pushed off hard, wings flapping in great effort to get lift. She missed the feel of the wind around her body, through the feathers, pressing against her. It was easier to see, too, from that height, so she kept her eyes on the ground searched for any signs of terrain change. She was rewarded rather quickly, as the grass grew more sparse and a brilliant, golden bridge shone ahead. She wasn't sure what it meant, but she knew where it led; she slowly eased down to stand at its lip, not daring to cross into parts she wouldn't be welcome. She would wait there, at the entrance, wings folded up tight and gold body shimmering beneath the sun. . you know your place in the sky @Essetia first c: RE: shining in the darkness - Essetia - 03-18-2016
RE: shining in the darkness - Serenity - 04-27-2016 Serenity During her travel she had struggled with the motivation to keep searching for what she had lost. She hated desperately to put out so many wonderful acquaintances that crossed her path, all the work they had to do simply for a stranger. How was it fair to them to help someone they didn't know, someone who could give nothing back to them? She had nothing to offer, not even words, and so the journey seemed quite pointless to her; would starting over really be so difficult?
But the thoughts that invaded were cut short when she spied a figure--two, one smaller--at the opposite end of the bridge she stood before. She wasn't sure whether to feel relieved or tense, afraid... afraid of what? Perhaps being sent away. Some part of her honestly did want to get those memories back. The bridge began to move, descending into place to allow one to cross. She stared in wonder, uncertain how a simple mare had been able to command it to do such a thing. As the bay approached, however, she spotted the key lightly swaying against her chest and Serenity suddenly understood the importance of that herd's precautions. They were protecting themselves. She took a tentative step forward to place one hoof upon the bridge, testing it as though she didn't believe it would hold her as it had the other. With the introduction of words, however, she snapped her attention back to her new-found company. Her sight was rested softly on the wolf, thoughts traveling back to Elsa and her Edgar. "I came from advice given by Elsa of the World's Edge. I was told seek Gaucho; that he could help me?" Before divulging too much of her problem, she gave the slightest debriefing. She then turned her golden eyes onto the one who approached. "I am Serenity." She bowed her head subtly, in greeting, in apology for intruding upon their land and taking the woman's time. you know your place in the sky @Essetia omg im so sorry for it taking so long thank you so much for your early reply and the incredible wait ;; <333 |
