"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Caught up in the loveliness of having someone beside her, even though it was probably forced as they were deemed to be each others' patrol partners, the feeling that she had was joy, merely on the idea that she wasn't lonely. Whether or not that he enjoyed her company was up for grabs, but after their experience together at the grove(one she did not regret in any way), she went with the idea that he might possibly not see her as a burden. It was.more the evident that she enjoyed in, in a matter that he did not make her feel uncomfortable. His height was looming, towering above her, she had to turn her head up fairly well to make eye contact. Having to do so made her feel small again, as she had been as a child. Often having to look down on others(and worrying if they took it badly), gazing up to another was no issue. Even a smile had managed to creep as her facial features, feeling unnatural, almost coming as far as to hurt her face. Whenever they spoke, which never was much, it was shaken off, away from his fire made glaze.
The journey could nothing better for her, dragging herself off to see the place she was raised in with a rushed pace. Weather had been more than pleasing, the night paid her no worry. The extended period of darkness that seemed enternal had given her benefits, ones that allowed her to have an undoing of relief in it. Once so tense about things, her partner's presence beneath a cloak of black sprinkled with glowing stardust finally got the better of her. After so long, she knew what it felt like to be a child again.
Behind them, there had been fireflies, dancing about their moving bodies. Now, the cool air of the night that might not be so pleasing for many would kill them with a gentle harshness. Light clouds rose from her nose as small patches of unmelted snow crunched under her steps. She wanted to roll in it, to bask and enjoy what she had given up to become a desert woman. What stopped her was how he may take it. Natural urges were difficult to control, but she was willing to push them away.
Clicking against ice, still buried in night seeing as they'd made good time, her eyes shifted anxiously in their sockets, looking for something. What was she to expect? Tonka rising from the ice, moving out of the shadows to greet her like he had done to her in the past? The bay was probably dead by this point, a carcass rotting away. Stray Northern Lights reflected off the blue ways, the colour of her horn coming back to her. She checks, only to make, that Hector was with her, not swallowed up as the others that once lived here(with herself) had done in the past.
The atmosphere around them, between them, shared bore no animosity. Hector felt quite at ease as he travelled along by the flank of the desert mare, a rare feeling generally, unless striding to the battlefront with brothers-in-arms. The art of sociability was something he was not terribly practiced in, and he appreciated immensely that she wished not to delve into any fathomless conversation. Her personality, he thought idly, was as easy-going as the fluid stride beneath her.
They walked for a long time, but it passed relatively quickly. Sikeax never dawdled despite the lesser length of her dark legs, and she guided them north- beyond the western border of World’s Edge and still further north to where ice bleached the night-shrouded land, and trees thinned to almost nothing. Hector knew they were near to the Basin, but he remained untroubled, vigilant and prepared, but relaxed all the same. The Arch was not a landmark he often felt the need to visit- it lay well past the lofty mountain field above the Falls, cold and uninviting, and he wondered why it had called his young company now; what relevance the bitter world of blizzards and tundra held in her life.
Thoughtful, sun-gold eyes lifted towards the starry heavens and he sighed, shivering, coat thin to accommodate preferentially the blistering heat of their sandy, baked home. He thought it was marvellous that such a place could hold its temperature even beneath the intensity of late Tallsun- Hector cared not for it personally, but a steady respect grow through his wandering mind. He turned and smiled, noticing right away that she was searching, and not the way they had been looking together through the Grove for anything worth reporting back with when they returned to the Throat.
The copper giant didn’t want to pry. He had no intention of spooning out deep set emotions that might have been motivation for this journey. "Can I help you search?" he asked her gently, pressing warm, steamy breath near to her shoulder. Perhaps it would be easier if four eyes were hunting through the darkness instead of just her own.
