"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

It had been far too long since the stag had tested his body against the elements, nor the limits it could withstand in a spar or battle. Tilney now had more reason than ever to learn to fight - he had Maude to protect, to forever stand guard over… and the twins. The two ashen haired boys he wished wellness, safety, and sweet dreams upon every night through whispers to the stars above as if they would somehow reach them.
A thought would always cross to Arah when it came to his worries and wishes for his loved ones, but really he hardly fretted any longer for the princess of ice. She could deal irreparable damage with a single bat of her star-blessed eyelashes and hollow a heart with one word whispered from her lips. Ferocious, Fierce and bolder than a storm. That was his Arah.
Regardless, a keeper of a beautiful family he remained - What kind of father would he be if he could not protect them or keep them from harm? Kaos remained; He still drew breath and continued to wander their land, their waters and their country defiling the gods of old. Any wretched fool from the threshold would have more claim to a deities throne than that creature, Tilney was sure of it.
With Peatree in flight above, Tilney loped like a zephyr through the fields of old. The Thistle Meadow he had chosen as his battleground - simple, central, and reasonably sheltered from any weather. The stags eyes, verdant as the grass he tread upon searched among the hills over yonder for a reasonably flat surface, only to find there really was no such place in this part of the meadow. Apart from the mountains and tree-line upon the horizon, rolling hills, thistles and boulders tapered as far as the eye could see.
“Rock!” came through the bond between bat and unicorn, the babyish mind speech causing a small smile to fall upon Tilneys kind face. Yes, there were many boulders on his battlefield but there was hardly a thing he could do about that - it would simply have to add to the challenge.
It took a moment of eyeing the weather, noting the overcast and sorry clouds that reigned the sky that afternoon before the doctor decided to declare his battle.
Cheering to the clouds above, the wind and rain, Tilney announced his challenge. “I wish to learn to fight! I have young ones to protect!” he boomed, his mind wandering momentarily to the tree children he held within his heart “come! enjoy some sport!”
The chestnut stood at the tallest point of a hill, his mane and tail billowing like a flag behind him; a beacon and a light to any passing by.

setting; the thistle meadow, midday, it is overcast and very windy! Tilney is perched upon a hilltop.
SO DARKEN YOUR CLOTHES OR STRIKE A VIOLENT POSE, MAYBE THEY'LL LEAVE YOU ALONE —
Her entrance to the meadow was not garnered by fanfare or ballyhoo, rather she slipped into it's very midst in elegant silence, her eyes cast upward to the overcast sky. It was high time she learnt how to fight properly, without luck or trickery. While Manon relished her new position as a sneak at the Edge she also had her own ambitions - her own plans, as it were, for quite the fruitful future. She recognised, with no small amount of thanks, that it was Tilney that had introduced her to this future. The same Tilney that stood stoically upon the hilltop, his divine chestnut skin gleaming as if from some inner glow, the wind tugging his flaming hair into a beacon and a challenge. Manon felt her lips twist into a wry smile.
Her step became fleet as she bounded toward the sweet tempered father, swift and silent in her determination to give Tilney exactly what he had asked for: a fight. Manon had little experience (her skills belonging more to stealth and shadows) and yet knew that for her to have any chance of getting the better of her mild-mannered friend she would have to use the assets that she possessed. Speed and stamina would be her friends in this fight, though she was loathe to admit her lack of muscular strength. So it was speed she used, speed and cunning, to position herself upon Tilney's left side - level with him, so that she would not be at a disadvantage approaching from below. She could feel the wind snapping at her silver hair, tucked back into a tight braid, some of the pearly strands loosening and flying awry upon the breeze as she made her first move.
Whilst Tilney watched the thistles sway below she flew from the sidelines, a smooth blur of velvet skin and silver hair, opalescent eyes wide and sharp as she nipped past the bulk of Tilney's shoulder. As she slipped past she threw up her hind legs, aiming her sharp little hooves at the mans comely jaw in an attempt to stun or startle him. Continuing in a smooth circle, Manon called out coolly; "You and I have a common goal, Tilney. I, too, wish to spar."

The flaxen father did not pass into impatience, for soon, his call was answered.
As silent as a blade she had waded across the ocean of drying grass, the psithurism of grass clashing against one another being the only sound to be heard aside from the deafening, shuddering roar of the wind. The chiropteran who was always found fluttering above the physician remained in flight and, for the most part, unfazed by the gale. A kite whirling in the breeze was Peatree; a bat who so loved sad weather.
The cloak and dagger that approached Tilney was now upon him, and it was only as he turned his ashen muzzle that he beheld the challenger.
Manon; someone he would least expect to see here of all places.
He imagined her to be a sweet girl. Quizzical and curious with her own marvellous set of secrets - but still sweet. Fighting, in his opinion, was not for the meek or the sweet. It was for the brutish and the unwise.
The gent had little time to react, however. He could give no ‘hullo!’ or ‘salutations’, for the fierce woman had already begun to strike.
Shying his head away, his hooves and legs tearing upwards with it, Tilney let out a short-lived grunt from the pit of his stomach. Truthfully, the stag was quite shocked. One moment he was standing peacefully astride a windswept hill and now it was to be desecrated with his blood - and, at the hands of the last creature in all of Helovia he’d expect to see there. Perhaps his plan to spar just anyone had been badly thought out, premature, and just horribly executed.
And as the consequences of his actions began to sink in, so did Manon’s hooves.
The brute’s head could not reach high enough, and in return was given a slice upon his jowl by the intercepting hind hooves of his opponent. The pain was bearable, the wound superficial at most; how lucky he had been that she had not struck him in the eye. “A risky move!” Tilney chanted towards the svelte doe, his cloven hooves pressing into the dirt towards her.
Lowering his crown, hardly a moment passed before Tilney attempted an attack of his own. His recovery had been brief, thought still the remarkable cut on his jowl still bothered him even as he began to charge.
Antlers bowed and at the ready, Tilney attempted to plunge forth into the mare and ram her directly in the shoulder with his sharp tendril of horns. An attempt at a simple, direct attack; he could only hope it would play in his favour.
