A swirl of dust and the rumble of the earth announced the presence of the Earth God in his sister's forest. At his side rested a young foal, only a few days old and in desperate need of a mother, not just one who could love him but one who could provide him with the nourishment he needed. Naturally, the Earth God had thought of the mother of his own child then decided against it because she seemed to have enough on her plate with Hototo and a bear cub.
His next choice brought a smile to his face. Solstice was well versed in the ways of mothering and had recently birthed a filly of her own. He felt she was one of the best choices for raising such a young foal. He would have not only a mother but a sister and brother should she accept his request.
"Solstice." His voice rumbled through the forest, seeming to shake the very trees as he called for the mare. The god then stood in silence, watching over the foal as he waited for the mare to arrive.

As it happened, the mother was not far off from where the God of the Earth and the merely days old child appeared. Azale to was at her side, as Solstice had curled around her daughter under the shelter of trees to allow her to sleep against her warm side. At the booming sound of her name however the painted dove gently woke her youngest and began to head in the direction the voice had come from. Azale of course scrambling up and following close after her mother.
Upon arriving, Solstice lowered her head in respect before looking to the god with a young child about her daughter age at his side. Meanwhile Azale came bounding along behind her dam, her gait unusual because of her difficult birth. It was another worry the paint had for her daughter in these cold days. The pale filly ran right past her mother and right up to the young colt. She stopped just short, only when she saw the huge stallion standing next to the colt. Her orange eyes going wide in surprise. With a embarressed look on her face the golden and ivory fem spoke. "You called for me Sir?" Azale scampered back to her right side, hiding beside her mother as they waited to see what was going on.

(I know its not quiet 48 hours, but I wanted to get this up before I left for work tonight)
The painted fem looked to the small foal, sound asleep at the God's feet. A saddened and worried look took over the embarressed one. Who could abandon a small child... Let alone with the cold of FrostFall.. Surely the mother had to of had reason to. Without hesitantion she spoke "Of course I will care for him." Hazel eyes looked back to the filly pressed against her side. "It's alright darling... Go lay next to him." Inside however she wondered, "How am I to keep two young ones warm.. I have no wings to stretch out and protect them from the snow...." A look of worry crossed the dove's face, hoping that she would be able to bring both small children through the harsh and cold FrostFall..
Azale moved forward hearing her mother's words. Was this colt going to be her brother? Wordlessly the pale filly moved to stand near the colt, stretching out her double sets of wings as she lay down next to the younger colt. To her surprise however she found smaller feathers instead of a fur coat like her own. Quickly she tucked her wings in around herself, to keep warm in the cold weather. She looked up, orange eyes looking to the Earth God before speaking quietly "He my brother?" Solstice looked on surprised herself, as it was the first time Azale had spoken. Her voice so soft, yet it did not carry the same accent like her own or Aaron's. Azale truely was a child of Helovia..

Not much went by unseen in the forests of the World's Edge. This occasion was no different. The golden dragon, Akaith, sat in the treetops above, watching the exchange with keen interest. She was confused, for it was her understanding that Gods do not venture often to lands that were not their own; these lands were blessed by the Moon Goddess, and yet she had not wandered here since their take over.. The dragon suspected that the Earth God knew of her presence even if he did not acknowledge her, he was all-knowing after all, but she did not mind being ignored, not when she was merely spying on the goings on at the borders of her homeland. The great God was taking his leave then, and so the little dragon summoned her bonded, silently, informing her of all that had gone on.
Akaith glided with ease to lower branches then, greeting Solstice warmly, with a colourful trill. With much happiness evident in her nature, the little dragon proceeded to coo and caw at the young foals, glad to have them call the World's Edge their home. Soon, the shadows nearby seemed to bend and shift, and the magical cloak that encased the body of the WeyrLeader dropped. Kind, golden eyes fell upon the gathered, a warm greeting wuffling forth from the mare's subtle, gentle smile. "It seems our family is ever-growing. Good thing Aaron is within, and well on his way to being WingLeader to protect us." Exotic accents curled her words, but the heartfelt honesty was there; they were of course, all encouraged to enter the borders and make the Edge their home. "Come, bring them to one of the camp fires, let the flames warm them against this FrostFall." With that, Mirage nodded her tiara gracefully, and led the way through the thick trees, towards light, warmth, and family.

As the God of the Earth cleared grasses for her to eat, the painted dove wasted no time in moving forward to ease her hunger. It seemed like mere moments before the grass was gone as was the God. Hazel eyes turned to the pair of foals. Now what do I do? Gently she moved closer and lowered her muzzle to nose each child. Sleeping out in the open was not safe nor warm. It was then the trill of Mirage's bonded dragon Akaith caught her ears. She smiled as the beautiful gold began to coo and caw at the children. It did not take long for Mirage herself to appear. "Indeed... Although I wonder what happened to the boy's mother to cause the God of the Earth to find him a new one..." She could not help but widen her smile as Mirage spoke her of oldest child. Aaron really was becoming all she had not been able to become and more. At the suggestion of Mirage the fem went back to trying to get the young ones to stand so they could move to a warmer place near one of the fires that had been set up to get them through this harsh winter.
Orange eyes took no notice as she settled her pale frame of the jealous eyes of the colt next to her. It in fact had not taken long for the young filly to fall asleep next to her new brother. No they may not be blood, but the big Stallion had said he was her brother and since he seemed to be powerful the young filly believed him. It was the colt's nose to her shoulder and neck that got the almost fully sleeping filly's attention. Playfully she lipped at the feathers along his neck before trying to sleep while the grown ups talked. It wasn't long before here came her mother trying to get them both to stand. The girl protested with a snort until the leader of the herd arrived with her golden flying lizard. Moniet scrambled to her feet the moment her mother's nose touched her again ready to move to a warmer place. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
