It didn't take long for her to spot a young and healthy squirrel. Since the Goddess did not say if the animals had to be huge the filly went for what she saw first. Her eyes narrowed waiting for the right moment, wings tucked tight against her frame. When the squirrel, who was in the prime of it's life got close enough the filly sprang forward trying to crush the skull with her front hooves.

After leaving the Dragon's Throat the young pale filly entered the Deep Forest, the lace she had been born during the invasion of World's Edge. It was times like this she wished her mother could be with her. But no, she was to do this on her own and prove herself worthy of the magic she asked for. It was with this mind set the filly began to look for her first kill of three.

The crunch of bone was new to the young filly, and it was a sound she would not soon forget. Her stomach turned, hating the sound at once. Was her magic really worth this? The answer was yes. Hurriedly the filly stepped forward, trying again for the skull. Orange eyes close tight as she can not bare to see the sight of what she was doing.
She began to hate the Goddess of the Moon.. She hated that pale bitch with all she had. Why, why had she sent her on such a horrible quest? Was it to teach her just how deadly her magic would be? Maybe... But in the mean time Azale hated every moment of this... and she had a long road of killing ahead of her.

With a squeak, the little gray squirrel's life came to a quick end. Her face was slowly becoming emotionless at the sight of life after life ending under her hooves. Was this what the Goddess of the Moon wanted? Was this to harden the young filly's heart towards he death of others? No... Surely it was to show her the value of life. The magic she had asked for was super deadly. It was a form of protection for not only herself but for those she cared the most about. She stood motionless over the squirrel, her mind lost in thought. Why did she want this magic so badly? The thought of her big brother Aaron, her adopted brother Kamien, her mother and her herd.
Gently she shook her head, tossing her pale forelock over her eyes. Azale needed to focus. Sure she had three down.... But another thirteen to go. Heavily the young filly sighed before beginning her search for the next victim. Orange eyes fell on a rabbit, fluffy cotton tail and all. Her insides turned at the thought of killing such a cute rabbit... but what choice did she have. She could either kill the rabbit and be one kill closer or let it live and give up. Since she wasn't giving up.... Her muscles tensed, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Suddenly she leaped forward, ears flat against her skull aimming to kill the rabbit. Azale could only hope that her aim was true and the kill was fast.

The rabbit is unaccustomed to herbivores coming after it and reacts too slowly, its legs breaking under your hooves as it tries to dash away at the last second. Fearful it looses a mournful scream.

The scream of the rabbit was heartbreaking. It'd be better to end the life of it then let it go on living with broken legs, so she brought her hooves upon the rabbit one last time. Azale gazed down mournfully at the little creature, her orange eyes sad, hoping she had ended the bunny's life for good.
Azale's attention was adverted to a thin tree with a chipmunk perched high upon it's long, dead branches. The fall from a height like that was sure to break it's back, to end it's life so suddenly short. She held her breath as she approached the tree, making sure the chipmunk wasn't moving. The filly turned so her rear end faced the bark of the dead tree. It was so thin and weak, even a swift buck from a foal could ramble it's branches. Azale bunched up her hind legs, letting out a little grunt as her hooves slammed into the bark of the tree. She was breathless from the kick, and quickly searched around, looking to see if the chipmunk had fallen to it's death. Too many emotions to count were spiraling out of control in Azale. Guilt, suspense, happiness, fearfulness...why was she feeling this way? She needed to be happy that she had come so far in her quest, but it was a hard thing to do with lives ending all around you. Maybe a more civil magic would've been better for her, instead of the deadly type she had bartered for. But no. Protection above all else, even if that means a couple squirrels died.

The chipmunk sees you shift before you strike, and with a high pitched squeak makes a leap of faith for another tree. Though it is left hanging on for dear life, it lives another day.
