Oh, this was Virus's favorite kind of night. When the stars are out and shining bright. He loved it. He liked this forest too. How the branches swayed peacefully in the Orangemoon breeze. He just liked the peace here. Unlike his last dream. That was not peaceful. He had opened up another wound. Led his blood to the lake. He just had to get away from the sand dunes and sun beating down in him. Even though the land was shifting to Birdsong, he still was uncomfortable with the heat. He now was walked down a narrow path. Well, he wouldn't call it narrow he would call it not a path at all. All gangly bare branches in his face, and all the weeds and undergrowth brushing at his sides. But he still liked it. Since most of the leave had fallen from the trees, Virus knew the sky would be visible through the trees' branches. He kept walking on the not-so-path, and ended up in a small grassy clearing. The night sky blazing with stars above him. He smiled with satisfaction. This was a nice spot to rest. He let the muscles in his legs un tence, and his stiff neck droop down. It felt good to have this cool night all to himself. But the one thing that still hurt was his still unhealed hunch. He had just recently open up another one. Only of rage. He sighed, it echoed through the vibrant night. He knew the stars could hear it because they shone brighter, sympathy. Virus then looked to his hooves. He didn't like sympathy from others. But he tolerated it when Skuggi and the little dove, Alina had brought him, well, helped him to the Throat. When they had got there, he was tired of being helped along, and asked them to stand by himself. It helped more, but now his wound still was not healed. "Virus talks" |

ALYSANNE.
Paint with all the colours of the wind
She should be back in the Edge right now, finding her way to Miykael as they snuggled up close in the chill of the autumn night. Or Orangemoon as she heard some of the Helovians call it. Such strange terms they used, she wondered if she spent enough time here eventually they would become a part of her vocabulary. Perhaps that was how it went – you assimilated yourself into the culture and picked up a few things here and there. It was an undeniable fact that she had been enjoying her time in Helovia, after all. This place almost felt like home. Perhaps that was why she lingered here, in the forest, this late at night. She tried to not make it a habit – knowing how her dearest friend would worry if she didn’t show up and knowing that there were likely dangers in the forests this late at night. But despite the density of the trees, she did not feel threatened in the darkness. There were stars above, twinkling and bright in the deepest blue ever to exist. It was night but it did not feel dark. Perhaps she should go home now – the walk back would be simply gorgeous. She could even fly part of the way – in the dark there would be few around that would pick up on her less-than-adept take offs and landings. She did rather love to fly at night, whenever she mustered up the courage to try. Soaring as close as she could to those bright autumn stars – what could be better? The pale Pegasus wandered until she came upon a small clearing – unfurling those large wings she set about readying to take off. But there were two things she did not notice, though one interrupted her before she could find out the other. First, she was not alone in the clearing. The second being, given her clumsiness, there would not have been enough space for her to take off neatly without landing in a tree. But all thoughts of leaving that moment were forgotten because here was company! Those great, white and black wings folded back up as she approached – already a smile in her face and just as she got out the “Hello!” she drew closer and noticed that he was holding his neck a little low. Oh dear, had he been sleeping and she just burst in all rude. “Oh shoot I’m so sorry.” These words were in a soft whisper and because she never really learned she just needed to ask. “Did I wake you up?” image credit
