"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Silver eyes watched as his mother took to the cool autumn sky and he couldn't wait to be able to fly as well. 'Good she needs to get away for a while and have some fun.' The growing colt sighed softly as his cremello painted mother flew out of sight. It had been just as hard, if not harder, on himself growing up without his father around. When Parelia or Penna was around the poor hybrid colt had to act and look happy, but inside his soul was darkening. Ilios tried his best to be happy, but he hadn't be able to spend much time with anyone his own age, or anyone besides his mom really. 'It's time I go out and find friends of my own. I need to get away too.'
Taking a deep breath he turned south away from his herd, there was no doubt in his mind that he would be back here. This place might not have been where he was born, but the World's Edge was his only home. Shaking the thought away he focused on his own body and how it moved. His legs were lengthening, his hips thickening, his wings growing. They were almost large enough for the young colt to fly, maybe within a month or so. Smiling at the thought he moved into a smooth trot keeping his gold and teal ivy marked head low. If humans were to watch him moving they might think he was being trained for dressage, with his smooth even movements.
After a while he slowed to a walk ears pricked and silver eyes bright with excitement. Trees slowly thinned before disappearing completely; opening out into a large meadow. He stopped dead at the edge of the trees gazing around in awe. The place was covered in pretty purple flowers, but something about them seemed, off. Squinting at the closest one he noticed the spines covering them. 'Tricky little devils aren't you?' He thought with a light chuckle. Prancing happily the colt laughed as he plunged into the open. Kicking up his black hooves he smiled letting all the tension he carried around to melt away. It was good to just run and play for once, even if he was alone.
After a few more bucks and a good rear the colt stopped panting softly his joyful smile slipped from his handsome face. Pain slowly slid into his heart like a bullet fragment wiggling it's way deeper into the muscle. How could anyone have fun if they were always alone? Ilios's golden and teal body slumped listlessly to the ground, as if the pain was pressing him down. Tears swam sluggishly around silver eyes as the horned and winged boy fought to hold his soul together.
Life so far in the colt's short existence on this planet had been alright up until a couple weeks ago when things took a drastic change. Ever since he was born he had always had his twin to play with and to look up to but now he had no one. Sure he still had his mother who was about as distraught as he was over Levex disappearing but he felt a certain attachment to his twin that he could not explain. A bond that only brothers could understand the true meaning of. Sighing softly as the hole left in his heart ached deeply he continued to walk unsure where he would end up when he decided to pay attention once more.
Why had Levex left them? Had he left on purpose? Had someone taken him? Was he alright? So many questions flooded through his young mind relentlessly torturing his soul day in and day out. When they awoke to find Levex gone they had searched for him for days yet they never found a trace of him. He knew that his mother was trying to be strong but secretly he knew that she wept nightly for her lost son. Nearly a full month had gone by since that horrible night but it still did not make it any easier or make him miss his brother any less. Moisture welled up at the thought of their time together and how much he wished that he would come home.
Wandering into what he had come to know as the prickly patch (a name his brother had come up with) he did not bother to lift his head to avoid the sticky prickles from snagging the tendrils of hair upon his frame. Pulling his wings close to him for comfort he stopped for a moment to look around at the landscape. Things had changed along with the season but all in all things looked the same as he remembered until his eyes caught sight of something within the grasses that stood out from the rest of the colour scheme. Pricking his ears forward he found himself trying to navigate underneath some of the bushes towards the oddity. Levex? His hopes fell as he found another colt instead of who he sought but he at least knew him. "Ilios? Why are you laying here?" He questioned reaching his nose down towards him.
Why am I out here? A voiced echoed deep within his heart. They had only met a handful of times here and there but he at least remembered the colts name (or hoped he did). Come to think of it he had never really met many friends as he had always had his brothers company, what was he to do now?
