"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Well that hadn’t exactly been planned but man did it feel good. A laugh falls from the golden man’s lips as he walks through the Arch as Haldir bounded in front of him. His mind rolling over the beauty of what just happened.
The pair had been on the Steppe getting ready to test the golden’s new Pegasus form. It was a nerve wracking affair, until she showed up. A harpy. Ugly she was, as she flew up right before their noses. Her disgustingly flat face smiling down upon Haldir’s little dark body. Diving she tried for the fawn but the babe was faster and scurried under the gold as the talons flashed before him. With the larger creature waving his horns at her, the harpy thought better and turned away. Curious the gold had followed her.
Then victory! Well sort of, the bastard woman made the mistake of catching a snow rabbit and whisking it to her cave. Of course how the gold retells it is he cleverly distracted the harpy with Haldir as a bribe and slipped into the cave, grabbing what he could before saving his deer. (While what probably happened was he was spotted, allowed Haldir to be chased and slopped in, only to all run away.)
Be that wee exaggeration as it may, the gold had successfully collect quite a lovely stash. First a satchel. A proper one! That fit so neatly on his side. In it he had stuffed a swirled armband, and a dagger. Finally the largest treasure he now had was a double bladed polearm. Its two double edged blades extending from either end, while the middle was a leather wrapped pole. Thanks to it that harpy had a lovely scar across her ugly chest.
Coming into the Basin the gold sets his prize down. His mind rolls over what to do with his prizes. The polearm was much too heavy to carry about regularly. Standing there stumped, the gold flicked his tasseled tail as he looked about the Basin below. Then his eyes landed on the two sentinels and an idea befitting the brilliance of the one to follow the harpy came. Hmm, he would need a payment though. Harks fell back. He didn’t want to pay with his own items. Still, it had to be done. Shaking his head the gold calls to Haldir and the two set off for his cave.
The golden returns later alone, with another burden. A gold elegant armor. Gingerly he picks its from his back and lays it before the sentinels along with his polearm. Then in a whisper his calls out to his precious. “Aduial.” The circlet above his head begins to hum and then extends until his armor rests snug on his back. Now he was ready. “Ulrik!” The golden had only seen the man from a distance. He always seemed busy about his work, or trying to make babies with the ladies. However, the gold did know this. The man was ever loving of these, the metal beasts which guarded this land. He would be here, surely. (Plus this was the only place he knew the man –could- be.) “Can you do anything to….liven up this” the gold twists in his armor “-and lighten this.” The gold now motions to the polearm. With a grin he takes moves the elegant armor with a cloven hoof. “I’ll make it worth your wild Engineer.” Oh what a day this would be! True, giving away armor was quite a sad notion, but the prize made it more than worth wild.

The Engineer raised a thick brow at the shout of his name, and he leaned out from where he had been working on one of the sentinels. His glittering, mad bronze eyes settled on a form he only truly knew in passing. Now that Deimos was ruler of the herd, Ulrik could focus on more important things – like creating magnificent, glorious machines. He got lost in his word for days, often disappearing entirely. The herd meeting was the only event he could really remember in the recent past, and he just now, as he stared at the warm landscape of the Basin, remembered that Arah had been there. He insulted others without even trying, it would seem. He cleared his throat, trying to rid the white beauty from his mind as he approached the golden stallion who knew him far better it seemed than Ulrik knew this stranger with two horns.
Thranduil. He was pretty sure that was his name, but he couldn’t be sure. Regardless, the man spoke again, and Ulrik listened, eyes sweeping his armored form curiously. Seemed as if he had gotten rather famous for his mechanisms, and the Engineer smirked slightly, dirty, tangled forelock tumbling over the brunt of his masculine face. The stallion shifted his weight and let his mind disappear, burrowing deeply into his wild imagination. With a few ideas in mind, the stallion stepped close – much too close for normal socialization. An intrusive, whiskered nose shoved forcefully against the collar bit of his armor and then glanced over the weapon.
“Cumbersome,” he agreed. The marking on the side of his leg seemed to glint in the sun as he activated his powers, deconstructing the weapon into nested spirals that expanded and collapsed rather easily. It was an elementary mechanism – not requiring any electricity, and he shoved his nose against a button once it was finished, showing Thranduil how it could be easily tucked away and accessed. “Simple,” he replied, then looking to the collar. The Engineer added spikes rather easily. Again, the mechanism was simple. “Careful with this one. They will pop out when you jostle them too thoroughly. I would suggest striking the ground hard if you need them immediately,” he suggested, the depth and cruel accent to his voice strange to the ears.
“That all?” he asked, the question not meaning to be rude, though easily interpreted that way.

Clambering down from his prizes the gold watches the long lank stallion come. Mind briefly looks to where he has come. He had only seen the twin of this metal beast move and respond to its masters call when wolves rushed up upon valley. Though even there it did not seem to do much, but the golden was well aware of the truer purpose. A threat. Clunky and cumbersome they may be, but even the gold, carefree as he was felt a chill roll down his spine to stand under their shadow. Snorting he looks to their creator. The dark beast kept coming and the gold’s eyes flick back and earth eyes follow his moves closely, but he holds his ground. He supposed he would have to add socially illiterate to the list of this metal crafter.
A charge begins to roll in the air and the golden’s nerve’s stand on end. Being on the receiving side of magic was never an easy thing to patiently stand, but this was worth it. Though the gold dared not move as the collar was unmade and remade again, he smiled at the ease of this transaction. Then to the polearm, and a smile grows on the gold’s lips to see the ease with which the engineer solves the downsides. He listens to with a nod and a wicked twist of his lips. This beauty he would soon try out. A harsh question comes out but it rolls off the golden like a harmless wave of a quiet lake. Nothing could dampen his light mood. “That’s all.” Then lifting a cloven hoof he pushes the gold armor to the engineer. “For your trouble.” Nodding the gold picked up his polearm, careful of its mechanism, and turned to head off. It was that simple. And for its simplicity the golden did find he didn’t mind the bearded womanizer as much as he thought.
