"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

After the chaos of the herd meeting had died down, Alysanne had given it a little bit of time to further settle before she sent Hemlock off to gather Calista and Evangeline together. They should meet with all of the healers soon, see who else was in the ranks, and they would but first she thought Calista was right - they should meet each other first. And truthfully, she wanted Evangeline there with her when she met up with the unicorn mare again. She was incredibly enthusiastic - it was a little overwhelming. Perhaps that was just the age difference between them, though. She shouldn’t be so skeptical and bitter about it - shouldn’t let the urgent friendliness throw her off.
They could use some enthusiasm, she didn’t doubt that.
To start, however, she just searched for the two mares - Hemlock’s small brown form looping through the trees to collect them. She did not imagine that they could have wandered very far, and hoped that they were all still here in the Edge at the very least.
Around her hooves played two small otters made of mist, the cool sensation whenever one brushed up against her skin sent shivers through her the first time it had happened but she was growing used to it now. It was entertaining, distracting, and calming to watch them - and she stood there quietly with her emerald eyes cast down toward them. They did not make any sort of noise like living creatures were but they seemed so very much to be alive all the same. This wasn’t the first time some strange act of magic had occurred since she had arrived in Helovia - it almost seemed stranger when there wasn’t some odd magic lingering around nearby. The enhanced vitality of the plants in the Edge as a result of the nutrients leaching from her hooves had subtle effects on her home - except for the nest of wildflowers and plants she slept in. The same spot she had slept every day that she spent in the Edge.
The girl had been exploring the field when she spotted the swift bird drifted toward her on the crisp afternoon air. It gave a cry of demand, but moreover one of summons. The pitch of the call left her no doubts as to where she needed to be. Stopping what she was doing, Calista turned and headed towards the trees. The open meadow was not at all difficult for her to navigate, but even her lengthy, slender legs strained to keep up with the fowl that flew ahead. The Moon Doctor's had not held a meeting since she'd joined the Edge. But today that would change.
Calista crossed over the treeline, entering the forest. It was a clear sunny day, much to her pleasure. She had been expecting Alysanne's call. She had mentioned a special gathering for the Moon Doctors when they'd met at the herd meeting, and Calista had whole-heartedly agreed, giving her enthusiastic support. Helovia was different than her homeland in terms of its flora, and she wanted to learn everything her colleagues had to teach. She needed it. Especially since Calista was still a newer member of the herd. The mare was also eager to be formally introduced to Evangeline, and hoped she'd be there. Calista had seen her at the meeting earlier, but they hadn't gotten a chance to speak. In addition, she was thrilled for the three of them to be able to collaborate on their latest findings at last.
Looking for Alysanne, the damsel did not immediately see her. Calista was too far down the left side of the woods to encounter her. Picking up her pace, she trotted up the slope, a bounce in her step. Her delicate hooves carried her swiftly through the pines, leaves rustling beneath her as she trotted along. It took longer than she thought before the tobiano pegasus finally came into sight. to herself, she noted that he was the first to arrive. This was usually the case. Calista was never one to lag behind, especially if she was looking forward to the occasion.
Walking up to the Alysanne, Calista extended a salutation as calmly as she could muster. "Good afternoon Alysanne. You called for me?" she said hello before falling silent. She didn't know where to start, or what to say first. There was so much on her mind. Alysanne seemed so well-read that she felt rather insignificant in comparison. Certainly she must have been a Moon Doctor a long time. Positioning herself so that she faced the painted mare Calista listened intently, flowing tail flicking gracefully as she waited to hear just what it was Alysanne had to tell them today. The young mare wished, more than anything, to be able to prove herself to her herd.
"Talk?"
"it's my life, it's now or never, i ain't gonna live forever, I just wanna live while I'm alive"
There was too much change, in Evangeline's opinion. New leads, new generals, new seers, new apprentices, new doctors .... the plethora of information that came from the herd meeting made the orange mare's head throb and she wanted nothing more than to disappear into the mist and the trees and be left alone. Once upon a time she'd led a solitary existence, just her and Tallis and it was far easier than living among a herd where everyone was vying for their chance at doing something. Someone was always ready to step up and take the throne of a dethroned king or queen. A warrior was always ready to prove themselves capable of being a general and subsequently needed healing from healers that were far too eager to show off what they knew to prove themselves useful.
It made her miss Isilme. It made her miss her Mystic Woodlands and the trees that had trunks so large that a full grown horse could sleep comfortably in a hollowed out one. She couldn't go back, though, and she knew that and it only made the ache in her head more pronounced.
'Hemlock.' Tallis interrupted Evangeline's train of thought as he spotted the owl. Eva lifted her head and watched the owl as it came closer and closer. It circled around her head then was gone again and Eva knew well enough that Alysanne was summoning her. As much as Evangeline wanted to ignore Alysanne's summon the orange mare didn't. She followed the retreating form of the owl and soon found her winged friend and another mare that she didn't know.
"Hello." She murmured quietly to Calista, but then she was looking at Alysanne. "You called?"
They come - Calista first, without the excitement that had driven her in the meeting. Alysanne hoped that she had not acted in a way that had discouraged the mare. She had been slightly surprised at the raw enthusiasm, sure, but she had composed herself quickly. Now she greeted the other paint with a warm smile, glad to see that she had gotten Hemlock’s message. Evangeline soon followed with Hemlock flying above her and landing back on Alysanne’s head. None of them seemed particularly enthusiastic about this meeting and the painted pegasus suddenly regretted calling them together.
But externally, she kept a smile. “Thank you both for coming.” She smiled softly at them both before her green eyes turned to the chestnut mare. “Evangeline, this is our newest Moon Doctor - Calista.” She gestured to the painted unicorn with a warm smile. “I thought perhaps we should all meet properly.”
But then, what else? They were both expecting something from her, now that she had sent Hemlock off to gather them here. She shifted in her spot, trying to figure out how to get this started. It had been such a solid idea in her mind before they had arrived. After her gaze flickered to both of the faces before her she settled on Calista first. “I know you want to learn a bit about healing but perhaps we could call forth the rest of the healers as well, find out just who is interested in these ranks so that we can all share and learn a little bit?” It made her uncomfortable, being in charge, being the one who had called them there. She wasn’t used to it - a part of her was constantly waiting for Resplendence’s dragon to come and gather her up for a meeting. The timid, pink mare hadn’t always had the strongest voice when it came to addressing the group and Alysanne had been happy to stand at her side and help in whatever way she could but this… this was different.
Now she looked to Evangeline, wondering if the orange mare thought this was a good idea. Hoping for some sign that she wasn’t just making a complete fool of herself right now.
