Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Restoration :: We Welcome the Dawn ☼ - 9/21/13 - The sun has finally risen on this day, giving the land new light, but the Time God and the Sun God have yet to be seen.
Endless Night :: Broken Magic Plot ☼ - 8/30/13 - The earth god has returned and is walking across Helovia to heal the land. Every area can now be considered lush and prosperous, but the sun has still not risen.
☼ - 7/19/13 - The moon has risen in the sky, heralding the return of the Goddess of the moon. Lamp trees which light the paths have grown brighter, moon flowers which grow in dark places have begun to grow and prosper and the world is brighter, filled with a new hope.
Endless Night :: Dead Magic Plot ☼ - 6/22/13 - The gods of Helovia, in order to protect the world, have disappeared into the rift, leaving the world sunless, moonless and magic-less in their absence. Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Rei
Rei smiled at the place where Africa had welcomed her into Helovia. It was in this wooded area that her life had been changed. A fondness for the land would always ran through her heart as deeply as the ancient trees in the Threshold sank their gnarled roots into the soils of Helovia.
What stories would you tell me if you could talk? deeply lost in her own musings she tilted her head back to take in the full grand expanse of one of the larger trees before her.
It was one of the mare's quirks, she adored trees. As a young filly whenever she was just learning to fly a few of the older colts dared her to play a game where they scrambled to the highest spot possible and leaped from the spot with their wings held tightly to their sides, the last to spread their wings and fly was the winner. The spot found that day was off of one of the spiraling paths worn into the ground by those traveling to the castle the ground was a good ten feet from the edge of the path. Scared and inexperienced but unwilling to turn down a dare, especially one issued by colts she swallowed and jumped on the count that they had all agreed on.
With the wind whistling in her ears and her good judgement begging her to spread her wings Rei plummeted towards the ground. Fear eventually dug its clutches deep into her and she scrambled to take to flight. Unfortunately panic made it impossible for her to balance and to angle herself correctly. Images of herself as no more than a splot on the ground made her eyes widen with desperation. Luckily a tree had been between her and the ground and she had landed in its sturdy branches.
While she laid in the tree branches catching the breath that had been knocked out of her one of the adult pegasi known for their strictness had passed by and seen the colts and their reckless behavior. The elderly pegasus had bared down upon the pair with a tongue lashing while Rei had stayed hidden away in the lush tree branches.
Jumping quietly from her tree branch Rei had pranced towards home looking back over her shoulder to cheekily wink at the colts being scolded while adding further insult to injury by sticking her tongue out. In her young mind the tree had been her savior that day saving her from scraped legs and also from getting in trouble. From that moment on all trees were added to her undiscriminating list of dear friends.
Rei was brought back to the present by a dappled grey mare that managed to somehow crash through the Threshold while still doing so in a graceful manner. Shaking her head and gently laughing at the oxymoron she had just witnessed she moved to follow after the dreamy eyed stranger.
It wasn't a hard path to follow. In her wake the grey mare left tree branches swaying from her touch, and all manners of signs left by one who was traveling while lost in their own. At one point Rei passed a family of disgruntled squirrels that chattered in confusion that moved into calls of intense frustration as Rei also made her way through their domain. Dipping her head and holding in her laughter Rei dipped her head in apology to the squirrels.
After her run in with the squirrel family she spotted the newcomer up ahead where she had met a pegasus and a unicorn.
"What brings you here, may I ask?" Rei picked up her pace with her ears craned forward, eager to hear the dainty mare's response.
"Hey there!" she quickly called out to the group in an attempt to avoid interrupting any of their words. "I saw you pass by, and I simply had to say hello," she directed her words at the grey mare. Putting her best self forward Rei smiled brightly at both the equine, the unicorn, and the pegasus, "I came to meet one and I am able to meet three. It must be my lucky day." Rei thrived off of making new friends. In all of Helovia she had not met a soul she didn't like, and it only encouraged her friendly spirit to reach out to those she met. "Oh! I forgot to say; I am Rei of Dragon's Throat. It sent shivers down her spine being able to refer to somewhere as her home with unmarred pride."I am sure that it will be a pleasure to have meet you three."
Magic usage is okay.
Just ask before doing any actions that may cause a great deal of damage first.
