Kahlua The celebration finished, the painted queen quickly got to work exploring the cherry blossom covered island. Of course, the whole thing would be covered by magic. Waterfalls flying from the edge, the ground floating far up in the air, clouds to lift you up and down. The queen sighed from the very romance of it all. Even the pain of killing Aurelia's companion that still periodically ate at her heart seemed to be eased here in the clouds. Was it possible that the scars of her past could heal here, instead of fester? Any inkling of intelligence that was shifting into her brain died away as a call came to her ears. Going to investigate, the queen found the most peculiar little turtle. When he finally said go, she was all laughter. “Come on!” she cried out to those who were near before digging her hooves in and setting off. She was not athletic, but anything to please the gods made her happy. She hoped that her song and dance party had delighted the moon, but there was always more that she could do. Lowering her head and sticking her nose out, the queen asked her muscles to do work they had rarely done in the past few months. Still, she managed a gallop and as her nostrils flared, she could feel the warm air of the island entering her lungs and giving her the energy she needed. As she tried to pass through the first ring, twinkling in all of its grandeur, she stole a glance backwards then forwards, to see who had made an early lead in the chaos of the takeoff. She hoped to be able to keep up. It wouldn't do very well for a queen to come in last place, now would it? here comes the sun |
