[Skipping Sikeax since she's on absent :) ]

The child disappeared farther behind Sia, causing Gaucho to frown. Was he mute? Was he retarded? Born this way? Or had the healer brought him here for aid? Annoyance clouded Gaucho's judgment. He was sure if Sohalia was here she would advise humility and grace; if the child needed assistance, why couldn't they provide it? Why shouldn't they? But these imaginary arguments did nothing to sway the concern that clouded his mind - the WildFire was trying to fortify the Throat, not weaken it by bringing in children. In his mind Mara hissed gently, encouraging him to wait and see. Perhaps the healer would have a reason for bringing him here - if nothing else, the boy looked like he would grow quite large. Perhaps he could help move boulders for Cera?

Eyeing the child, the dun was about to reiterate his question to Sikeax, as Ampere descended.

Her whistle caught his attention immediately, though it wouldn't have taken long for his stormy gaze to fall upon her even if she remained completely silent. Her electric presence always drew his eye whether he wanted it to or not. Once again, she was accompanied by a male. This one was larger than the last, though his build was lither than the Wildfire's. Torn between approving of the stallion as a possible warrior, and unjustified jealously, Gaucho remained audibly silent, even as his eyes roamed over Ampere as she descended. He implicitly trusted her judgement - their past meeting with Ghost hadn't rattled his resolve in her ability to judge character, otherwise he might have commented that she did not have the ability to simply grant entrance into their lands. But he did trust her, and so again, remained silent, asking Mara to note the stallion's name for future use. Oberon.

Apparently all would remain silent, except Ampere.

Why was Ampere always the exception?

Turning to face the paint, Gaucho nodded his antlered skull. His stormy gaze surveyed the physique of the stallion, once again finding approval in the muscles he found moulding his frame. "I Gaucho." He offered simply, not bothering with his title. "Did Ampere explain ranks?" Everyone in the Throat needed a job - being a citizen simply wasn't good enough. They needed to contribute. Although he jumped right into business, not bothering with how was the flight over as Sohalia might have done, his voice altered ever so slightly upon saying her name. Although most of his words sounded rough and primitive, something about Ampere's name rolled off of his tongue with an odd familiarity.
