But father for some reason made this journey to someone’s throat easier on the colt by allowing him to rest, graze, and doze off a few times during the trek. But the youngster’s mind often wandered during the day, cursing the sun, and cursing the heat as the ice colt’s pace started to slow as exhaustion started to nip at his hocks in an uncomfortable manner. ”Dad?” He would stammer under his breath as his breathing quickened as they finally made it to the edge of the territory and the temperature seemed to soar even higher than before. What Levex wouldn’t give to turn right around and stamp his little hooves right back to the threshold and wallow in the snow like a wild boar.
Soon enough though the sun dipped back down under the horizon (where it belonged, that infernal ball of rift raft.) And his secret moon lover ascended back to the heavens. This alone made the youngster perk his ears and snap his tail in excitement as he turned his head to the left and then to the right. Soon enough he would be able run amuck and cause all types of childish chaos. Father’s next words only confirmed exactly what he was thinking as he tossed his head and quietly accepted the challenge.
Lips though flashed in his peripheral vision as he caught the words of his brother, and found himself teasingly flattening his ears before attempting to nip him back, shocked as his brother launches himself forward and up the dune. Thoughtlessly Levex followed, his hind hooves pushing off against the sand as he went charging after his brother with a loud challenging neigh slipping from between his lips.
Ha. Trickster! He would win this one.
Levex crashed forward, his gangly front legs stretched then too far, sliding through the sands as his hind hooves tried to make purchase and failed. Teetering backwards, the colt found himself rump first into the sand and sliding down the dunes squealing with excitement at this interesting new game. But unfortunately, Levex found himself flopped down rump first right back where he started, in front of daddies legs. Didn’t work out exactly how he had planned. Oh well, better luck next time.
