Gaucho's head rose immediately at the sound of feathers and air. He watched as the stallion descended, his robust clay-coloured form becoming larger and larger as he neared. Hector in fact was the largest mortal he had met here, presumably larger than Archibald (although perhaps not, but their meeting had been so long ago that Gaucho couldn't quite remember his exact measurements, other than that he was big). Still, no intimidation or fear crept onto the Wildfire's features. Instead, he watched with a joyful and relaxed gaze as Hector landed.

"Brother!" He returned, his voice deep and filled with mirth and ease. After seeing so many who didn't belong in their borders within, after so much spying and creeping around by the Basin, it was a welcomed weight lifted off of his soul to see another that truly belonged here.

Gaucho nodded, although could nearly say the same to Hector. Had the tribrid simply been away on assignment this whole time? With Africa's disappearance and Sohalia's absence he still wasn't entirely sure what the itinerary of some of his missing members were. Like Meg, Gaucho assumed they had merely gone off after the attacks. Perhaps this was not so. "Yes. Beginning of Frostfall Gaucho come back. Gaucho called away ... then have memories taken. But Gaucho find Ophelia who called Gods to help Gaucho. Sun God come and restore memories." It felt odd, given all that had transpired between himself and the new Basin Lady, to paint her in a light that made her seem so charitable and giving. Snorting, Gaucho dismissed these thoughts. Now was not the time. He shrugged his blue-striped shoulders as if to indicate this was all in the past now. "Sun God tell Gaucho to return to Throat and lead again. African not here when Gaucho return so ... " Then, with a frown knowing that the warrior deserved the fully story, continued. "Sohalia leave too...Leave to find materials for the Academy Tandavi start.." Again his voice seemed to trail off. The Academy was ... not a pursuit he entirely understood, its value mostly lost on him. Still, it was important to his (former?) mate and the herd, and so he had allowed it. Although as more and more time passed, pulling Sohalia from her duties as Sultana his conviction in the idea wavered considerably. However now with Sohalia gone and so much on the Throat's plate the reason for her disappearance hardly seemed important.

Looking to the bucket in response to Hector's question, Gaucho chuckled slightly, a grin pulling at his dark lips. "That ... long story. Have been many attacks on Dragon's Throat. You remember invasions from before. Basin still attacking us now, try to steal our family. So Gaucho go to Sun God, decide to make Throat into an island. That way we control who come here and who can't." Gaucho seemed oblivious to the fact that those with wings could ever be a threat to their family, for they never had before. "So Gaucho on quest. Have to get materials to explode bridge." Nosing towards the bucket he continued, "Oil from Endless blue step one. Herd is on a quest too - since Throat will be an island need a way to have non-pegasi get on and off. We want to make a magical bridge that lets them fly. So herd have to get items from other herds and fire and a stone. One bucket of oil already on land bridge for Gaucho's quest. This bucket help for fire."

Pausing, Gaucho realized just how much was going on with the Throat as he realized that this oil was also meant to play a part in the Throat's festal for the Sun. His smile widened as pride blossomed in his chest. His family had come so far, where doing so much ... He only hoped that this quest would be enough to keep them safe. "Tallsun coming. Throat will use some oil to keep lights burning for Sun God's festival."
