When the insolent mare snarks back, and dismisses me as if I were a youth, I could feel a muscle on my cheek twitch, a fine tremble cascading down my legs, and I ground my teeth to avoid tearing a nice chunk out of that sky-marked hide. But she walks past me, into the Throat, and I ignore the colt for now. Wings snap open, and I tear from the ground and into the sky, quickly overtaking Cirrus and the youth and landing in a spray before them. Without hesitation I strode up to her, wings outstretched and ears back. "Listen. I'm a nice guy, and I would have gladly accept you into the Throat as a warrior. BUT..." I want nothing more than to snap my teeth at her, lay into her with hoof and wing and all the fire in my heart. But there is a child watching, and I would never wish for someone so young to see violence. "Your first impression is shit. So why should I let you pass, allow you to join our herd, when you show so little regard for authority?" Gone was the jesting, the playfulness, the snark. Had she stayed still, had she not dismissed me and so blatantly ignored my authority, we would not be in this situation. I would have let her in, let her pass, and gone to Ampere to tell her of her new soldier...maybe asked if she could make her life a little rougher. But she hadn't, and now here we stood. Everything rested upon Cirrus's shoulders; whether she would enter the Throat or be denied. I was NOT a pushover, and if need be I would chase her from these sands or break every bone trying. So silent now, I watched the cloudmare, muscles tensed, waiting to see what she would do. The matter of the colt's dam, Alija...could wait. This was more pressing @[Cirrus] Ooo this didn't turn out like I thought it would xD Bucephalus
