Relief flooded Gaucho's veins as the words he'd been praying to hear slipped from her lips: Sohalia is safe. It raised a hundred other questions, (where had she gone? what had happened to her? what would she say of his alleged child (or two) with Ampere? what was the status of their relationship), but he happily accepted them. However as she continued to narrate her time away, the joy that briefly blossomed on his face quickly disappeared.

She had been in the Falls?

He knew Africa was there - Rasta had told him as much a few weeks prior - and so that portion of information fell upon deaf ears which was probably for the best for had it been something important it would likely have been missed. Anger immediately flared inside of his mind, as his dark lips set themselves into a straight line.

He should have known.

The Falls were not the allies they once were, it seemed. Midas had been there on the day that Gaucho had been revealed before all to be the murderer that they all sought, used by the Moon Goddess to complete whatever wicked agenda she held. The Throat had come to Gaucho's aid, as did the Basin via Ophelia. He was not surprised their Western allies - Kahlua of the Edge - had not said much. It was after all her patron God who was accused of murder, and their alliance had only been newly re-forged (but with Kah, not the painted queen). But Midas had none of those excuses. Brothers once, under the sun, and yet he remained silent. Now to find that the Falls had been harboring Sohalia and hadn't sent a message to the Throat about her whereabouts, much less an escort, was unacceptable.

It didn't surprise him that Rasta was rude - the mare often came across that way, although given the alliance between the Throat and the Falls there should have been no excuse for it. Perhaps if Gaucho had known Meg crossed into the Falls' borders without being welcomed he might have understood somewhat more. But even so, he was sure that whatever roughness Meg might have portrayed was immediately justified by her purpose.

The flames that lined Gaucho's wings flared up, bright and high, as his emotions continued to boil within his system.

"Meg do good." He acknowledged, forcing himself to recall the purpose of her journey. She had found out exactly what he had asked of her, and the news had been good. Sohalia was on her way back to them, and seemingly mended by Africa. That was good, regardless of how it came about. The matter still remained that the Falls - Midas specifically - had put a great deal of distance between themselves and the Throat. But that could be dealt with later.

For now, he needed to find Soh.

"Thank you." Gaucho grunted, the appreciation obvious in his voice. That he could rely on and trust Meg was a relationship that he was finding to be more and more fleeting among others these days. "Gaucho deal with Falls. You do good, do nothing wrong."
