GAUCHO

TallSun always brought a particularly difficult tension for the dun. On the one hand, he always liked to train himself in all climates and terrains so that he would be ready to defend the lives of those he loved regardless of when such a call might come. He fought during his handi-capped challenge from the Sun God, he fought in sickness and in health, in rain and snow and sleet, and even under the unbearable sun of Tallsun. However it always came at a price. His body sweat profusely, and to compensate his muscles began to deteriorate and whatever weight he had gained was bled away. Gaucho was still strong and nimble, but now he had grown far skinnier than he was in Frostfall, though perhaps more than most of his herd. It was a balance between pushing himself, and remaining in peak physical condition.

Another tension presented itself, as Gaucho spied Cera and Ampere. The dun had finished patrolling for the day, but still had enough energy to aid Cera with his crafting endeavors. However Ampere's presence made him pause. The two still hadn't had a chance to properly speak. Certainly they had in passing since their last encounter, but it had been all herd related - business as usual. An apology had weighed on Gaucho's mind since the spar between Bucephalus and Cirrus, but it had remained unspoken. Apparently it would do so for a little longer.

Putting the needs of the herd before his own personal misgivings, Gaucho cantered gently towards the pair, with his own pairing of companions. Mara rode happily in Gaucho's antlers, while Vorsa, whose flying skills were coming along nicely, whizzed by. Arriving first, the small phoenix trilled a hello to Ilaria. She had pulled so much from the mind of Gaucho, and thus Mara, about the panda, that her greeting seemed much more friendly than the two in fact were. Her trills of hello - to both Cera and Ampere (for she was too young to remember what had occurred regarding the blue shortly after her birth), were slightly dampened by Gaucho's breathing as he arrived and came to a halt.

"Cera. Ampere." The Wildfire forced his tone to remain the same as he spoke both names, nodding to both though letting his gaze fall upon Cera rather than Ampere. He didn't want to ignore the blue, but nor did he want any casualness in his greeting to suggest that he had simply forgotten all that had transpired between them. Having not heard Ampere's question, the dun echoed it. "What are doing?"
