[I can gooooooooooo the distaaannncceee.]

There was never any darkness for Gaucho. Everywhere he want, even in the pitch of night, was bathed in a warm glow. The fire from his wings spanned all around him, always. The glow from the symbols on his antlers constantly warmed his dark features into something that often appeared more gentle. For some, this might seem like a burden. To always be in a spotlight, to never be able to disappear into the background. But not for Gaucho. Gaucho had never been a creature to shrink from his responsibilities, or to feel the weight of prying eyes around him. Indeed, even during his quest from the Sun God and the aftermath of the Moon Goddess' evil doings, Gaucho had not hid. He had brazenly met those who had accused him of wrong doing. He had never shied away.

And so, even had Gaucho known how furious Maren currently was with him, he would have come to her just the same.

Gliding down from a darkening sky, the Wildfire descended. His stoic and stormy gaze fixated upon the tiger-striped mare who had so keenly held his interest weeks before. He liked the way Maren spoke her mind, how her thoughts and opinions were never coloured by his title. Few dared to raise their voices to him, or challenge his decisions, but Maren seemed to have no problem with it. He wasn't sure if it was just naive stupidity on her part, or if under her meek appearance there was something stronger, but he preferred to think it was the latter. As he neared her, his eyes raced over her body and he allowed himself a moment to think of what it would be like to spar her. To feel her body pressed tightly against his own, and to feel the racing of her heart.

"Maren." He greeted, butchering her name as always. For Gaucho, even simple names were difficult to pronounce, much less the sophisticated rolling sound that accompanied her own title. Mah-ren. It was as close as he could come.

At his side, Vorsa trilled a happy hello as she flew towards the ground. Her bright gaze investigated Maren's pile of sticks, and she immediately began to try and find things to add the pile. There wasn't much around that Maren hadn't already grabbed, but still she tried. Of course she had no idea what the purpose of the pile was - nor did Gaucho, although he did cast a skeptical gaze towards it.

"What are doing out here?" The dun questioned, cocking an ear around but hearing nothing. It didn't seem there were others here. Had Maren come all this way just to think? Or was she about to use her key - to race across the ocean on magical wings? He would accompany her if that was the case, although he didn't need to use his key to do so. He already had wings of fire, he didn't need the ones that the Sun God had blessed the rest of his herd with. The thought didn't even cross his mind that the fire aspect might have deterred her in anyway, or even angered her.
