There's something I'm not revealing...





Disappointment flickered across the little one’s face, and Sandman mentally cursed. It had been a stupid move, letting– no don’t think her name, she is nothing, don’t think it! –letting her occupy his thoughts while luring in this bright flicka. His apology seemed to have been enough though, for the sunny femme perked up again, smiling so happily it was like the incident was already forgotten. Perhaps it was, for Kanti seemed so eager to believe that he truly was her prince that she may ignore anything that did not fit into her fantasy. And he had always been a good actor.

She was speaking now, delighted to help. She was that kind of horse it would seem, gladly going out of her way to offer assistance to all who asked. Still, wasn’t she at all nervous? After all, night had fallen and she hardly knew him. No matter, that just made his task easier. “Well then, princess, I am yours to command. Simply tell me when you wish to depart.” Her question was harder to answer, though the difficulty came from sorting through his tangled thoughts rather than not knowing what to say. “Yes, I suppose it is rather lonely. But I also come across the nicest horses.” A flirtatious wink directed the comment to her, as did a gentle nip at her mane. “I’m curious though, don’t you think it a bit late? Surely you have someone anxiously awaiting your return home.”
