Yael defends herself
I sit by this little fire and watch the flames fly up to the heavens.
- Yael's family was killed by a massive fire
- from a religious tribe = heaven
- pegasus = fly
I delight in the warm glow, it brings a touch of day to the dim light.
- Yael is palomino = warm glow,
It looked lonely, sitting here by itself, so I came to keep it company

- Yael is likely to eschew romantic male company for a long time
It spoke to me, you know, told me it was sad sometimes but that didn't stop it from burning.
- the past events of Yael's life are sad, but she is resilient
I think I'll sit here a while, here by this little fire.
