Iona defends the King's daughter, Kiada.
I sit by this little fire
-- is small/young
and watch the flames fly up to the heavens.
-- winged companion
I delight in the warm glow, it brings a touch of day to the dim light.
-- magic reference and/or appearance ref (gold and black with white appaloosa markings).
It looked lonely, sitting here by itself, so I came to keep it company.
-- recently separated from/lost her twin brother.
It spoke to me, you know, told me it was sad sometimes but that didn't stop it from burning.
