HE was afraid. His foals had just been born and then the Goddess had left, the magic had left, and now his new family was threatened. Actually, he wasn't sure what the Goddess's words had meant. He wasn't sure about any of it other than his fear and his worry and his building rage...but also pain. Perhaps, the world might be better off without his darkness. After all, others did seem to mostly hate or disobey him. At the very least, his children might be better protected without the ever-looming threat of his discovery. He stared at his mate's resting face, so innocent and sweet and then further down at his napping twins, so sweet and so dark. How he might be filled with any more pride than he was now he wasn't sure but, by the absent gods, he loved them more than life itself. It was the fulfillment of every stud's purpose: To plant seed in a mare and watch that grow into living creatures. Ah, he was at peace. His nose wuffles against each of their foreheads, gentle and kind, before he steps away from them towards the unknown interior of the Edge. His hooves crunch on the brittle late growth and the chill air nips at the warm spots under his wings as he walks. It was odd, all this life so late in the year, but he accepted it none-the-less. His head throws up to the sky as he takes a deep breath of life. What the fuck was he going to do? The Blood Knight drops his head and his eyes are assaulted by the form which holds all his pain, hate, guilt....past. The stallion stands, unmoving, silent, hoping she'd pass by and not notice his hulking form. Pah, but one could always hope right? "Speech" I'll Fall So You Might Live |
