Murdock watched as the older mare continued to graze, making a point of ignoring him. It didn't really bother him though, as he had been used to others paying little attention to his antics after they had grown used to him. He smiled down at her. She sure was stubborn, but she could fight back. Her wit was enough to put her one step ahead of him, and it kept him on his toes. He wondered absentmindedly why she didn't just leave, and rid herself of his teasing comments. But maybe he wasn't worth the effort. He found that thought oddly flattering.

He grinned as she pinned her ears, her response coming as a simple statement; short and sweet. Just like her, except without the 'sweet' part. He kept his eyes on her, not making any move to respond to her reply. There sure was a lot of sun in the meadow, but it wasn't why he had come there. He had always been the adventuring type, and he eagerly took advantage of any chance he had to explore. He had hardly been in Helovia for a month, and he had not yet seen most of the province. He tended to stick to the north, though, where the terrain reminded him of home and he could frolic in the snow like an idiot whenever he pleased.

"South'd be nice...but I like the north, per-" he began, but his statement was cut short when she reared up in the air. For a moment, he thought he was being attacked and he flinched away from her hooves. He backed up a step out of caution, and watched her flap her wings as she called out to the sky. Was she going nuts? He noticed the longing look she aimed at the clouds, and he followed her gaze upwards towards the pale sky. His gaze returning to her face, he studied her expression.

"Miss flyin', do ya?" he asked, hardly even noticing the drawl he continued to put on. He loved flying, and couldn't imagine a life without it. But then, he though about that often, and thinking about it would do no good as old age caused his own joints to seize up. But he was a long ways from that point yet. He stretched his snowy wings out alongside his body, long feathers contrasting sharply with the coal black of his coat. "Come on, I'm sure you can still do it..." he said encouragingly, though inwardly he was a tad sceptical. He'd seen many older pegasi still take to the air, but he didn't know how long it had been since she had flown.

"Speak"
