It felt like hours had passed, before Midas finally came into view. Gaucho had wondered if this herd was the right home for him; all he had seen so far were a few pretty mares joyfully bounding around, and a handful of foals. Where were all the warriors? The sar-gents like Levi? Gaucho would assume that there were probably warriors who were out actively scouting (like Levi), but shouldn't there also be a few with the herd constantly? Although the Throat appeared to be bordered by the Sea, with only one direct entrance, surely the members here were not so boastful that they believed they would never be attacked? Once Gaucho swore allegiance to the leader of these lands, he would never waiver in his devotion. But until that time, he began to grow more and more skeptical about whether or not he should.

Spinning neatly to face Midas as he approached, Gaucho raised his muzzle slightly aggressively, unsure how to necessarily proceed. If this was not a member of the throat, it would be his duty to escort him out - but knowing nothing of herd politics or dynamics, a feeling of uncertainty flooded his mind. He hated that feeling - Gaucho was a warrior, he only needed to know who was good, and who was bad. Welcome Brother Midas called out, and immediately Gaucho relaxed. His nostrils ceased to flare, his ears relaxed into a more natural position, and his body seemed to diminish slightly, as he exhaled the air currently inflating his lungs. Even so, he was several hands taller than the painted stallion, but didn't appear quite so intimidating. It was something about the way Midas had said brother, that struck such a chord with the brute. Levi had addressed him as sir, and the word seemed unnatural and out of place to the primitive beast; but being addressed as brother, felt much more natural. Gaucho nodded his head, his steely gaze falling over Midas respectively. "Yes I am" He said, his voice deep and resonant, yet the words sounded awkward and bulky coming from his lips, as if he weren't used to speaking. "Levi, bring me here. I am Gaucho."

With an expectant look to Midas, the gears in Gaucho's mind whirled as he tried to decide how to proceed. He knew nothing of how ranks worked within the Throat, or what he ought to be doing. All he knew was how to fight, defend, and protect, but when it came to simple conversations, he was lost. "I am warrior." He offered, as if that might clarify any confusion on Midas' part. While Gaucho was a warrior at heart, as far as the Throat went, he was only a simple stallion.
