He didn't step back now, even knowing that Kri, leader of the Tuuli and renowned for her temper and battle skills, was to test his mettle. It was with her in mind that he chose their spot to spar. A broad opening in the trees, walled in on three sides by the forest itself, and a cliff falling off the fourth. The ground was flat and windswept, a location that he often chose to take off or land from. It would keep the battle fair between them, offering them both an escape into the sky and no uncertain footing to trip them up.
It was there that he waited for her, calm and patient, until she arrived. He bowed his head to her in respect. "Thank you for taking the time from your responsibilities to test me, Lady Kri. I would be honored if you would begin." In truth, he disliked initiating fighting whenever he could help it. It was more than a gesture of respect to allow Kri the first move.
(( Set in a cliff-top clearing with lots of open safe and level, firm footing. First move is yours, Boom. ))
