The golden mare waddled these days. She was bigger than she ever thought was possible. But that’s what happens when you’re carrying a foal inside you. The foal moved about quite often, meaning that is was almost getting for the time for the foal to come. She wondered what it would be like suddenly, and she was scared. What if it hurt too much, and she couldn’t take the pain? What if she died? The young mare stopped suddenly, the pain in her lower body noticeable. Was it time? She lay down, exhausted from the short walk she had made around the Foothills. It was a sunny day, nothing compared to the rainstorm that had happened when Kyan hatched. She lay her body down on the soft grass below a hill, her head on a slight incline. She felt her body move on it’s own, going back and forth and trying to get the baby ready to come into the world.

Kyan moved with Kanti, worried about his new bonded. She was having a hard time walking because of her child, and he tried to keep with her the best he could. He had just learned to start jumping, and was still having a hard time with it. Kanti suddenly collapsed, and he rushed to her side, hoping she was alright. She laid her head on the ground. Suddenly she started whinnying, crying loudly. It echoed around the area. Her body was convulsing, and she was still screaming in pain. The small tree kangaroo didn’t know what to do, but he chose to stay by her and soothe her. There wasn’t much he could do otherwise. It eventually pasted, and he watched as a lithe figure slid to the soft grass beneath the birthing mare.

Kanti finally stopped screaming to realize that she had given birth. The mare was weak, but she needed to see her foal. She arose shakily, but wasn’t able to get up fully on the ground. She instead turned her self around so she could see her newborn. It was a filly, and it had almost the same color that she wore. The mare’s heart leapt, looking at her newborn child. "Catalina, my sweet darling girl. Welcome to the world."
