For a moment, it seemed as though Gaucho would charge at the opposing stallion, nonetheless. His dark ears only twitched an almost imperceptible amount, as words were cast in his direction, meant to sooth his temper and explain the situation. But really, Onni and Sohalia both should know better than trying to explain something to Gaucho, especially in the heat of the moment. Indeed, it truly appeared as though he would not listen, as the lighter petite stallion so stupidly reared, exposing his stomach to a plethora of antler spikes, pointed directly at his soft belly. Had Sohalia or Onni yelled at him - had they appeared panicked in anyway, Apodis very likely would never had have his hooves touch upon the soft sands, once he raised them. Yet the calmness of both the shaman, and the dam of his foal had a quietening effect upon his spirit, and soon, the bloodlust dissipated from his dark gaze.

Skeptically, and ignoring the new comers once deemed to be not-hostile, Gaucho turned to Onni, his head dipping low in a gesture almost too respectful and intelligent for one such as Gaucho. As his bulky head rose, though not all the way, he grunted slightly, frowning as he did so. "Painful pross-ess" He repeated, looking at Sohalia as if pain was not something he had expected her to experience. Confusion masked his stormy gaze, as his eyes ignored the filly and only lay upon the no longer purely white/gray coat of his mate. It was almost as if he was expecting that he could somehow endure the pain of birth for her - that his sparring and patrolling, and the amulet he had given her - would somehow ease this process. Snorting, his gaze once again moved to Onni: "Painful" He repeated once again, his deep voice now sounding expectant and accusatory, as he looked from the shaman, to Sohalia.

Then, as the small creature moves, her black and white body such a characteristic representation of her parents, Gaucho's head dips low, allowing Mara to slither from his antlers and towards the small filly. With a black-eyed stare towards Sohalia, as if asking permission, Mara slithered forward, meaning to drape herself protectively across Sohalia's hindlegs, near Zenobia.
