Heavy mahogany wings cut through the autumn air with ease. The golden stallion's form glided above the snow spotted earth. He had felt the urge to travel and enlighten himself, after being accepted into the Throat. The sweet girl, Kiva, had been more than kind to him, but there was much he still needed to know about this land. Things that he would prefer to learn by experience, rather than off the tongues of strangers. The scent of another drifted lightly on the currents. A mare, but clearly not one of his own kind. An involuntary shiver ran down his spine. 'Horned'. Images flashed through his mind, of blood and chaos, and his own screams of pain thundered in his memory. He had learned to deal with the trauma in his past, to some degree. And the fact that there were feminine tones in the fragrance subdued his anxiety, if only slightly, for he knew that gender had little to do with capability. And he certainly had met enough Unicorns to realize that they weren't all bloodthirsty, crazed things. He just knew that some of them most certainly were. With muscles tensed and nerves heightened, Leander brought himself reluctantly to the ground. The chilled soil met his hooves with a clear thud. Ivory rimmed eyes cast over the snowy expanse until they found what they were looking for. A dark silhouette stood near a iced sapphire structure. The sun hued stallion took a deep breath, realizing that he was too close to the dame to go unnoticed for long. He let his thick chords ring out, masking the slight unease that caused his heart to thrum just a bit faster. "Hello, miss." The brute's pale forelock fell loosely down his face as he dipped his head respectfully at the mare. When his crown rose, he paused to study the girl. Strange garnet locks fell over her sleek, midnight coat. She was elegant, but in a mysterious, almost sinister way. 'Who am I to judge who she is, just by looking at her? Ridiculous.' He thought to himself in a scolding manner. 'Looks can be deceiving..' |
