The azure cave and the doe's charcoal form were reflected in Leander's honey pools. He continued to study the girl as she noticed his presence, his mind whirling with it's own ideas of what she might say and do. Half expecting her to charge him with her sharp spear pointed at his chest, the gilded stag had a moment of relief when the girl didn't seem to do anything too quickly. In fact, she seemed almost as nervous about him as he was about finding her. Darkened ears stood as the unicorn spoke.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Faelene. I am Leander." Warming tones emanated from his throat, reassured somewhat by the mare's amicable words. His wound shoulders finally began to relax, the tips of his feathers nearly reaching the snow-laden ground as his wings lowered slightly. It was times like these that he wished he could read minds. Was the girl just putting on a front? Or was she genuinely good natured? Hopefully a little time would give him the answers. A soft smile crept upon his velvets as the onyx maiden went on to say that she had been startled by him. "I'm sorry for alarming you. But if it makes you feel any better, you surprised me a little as well." Leander's smile broadened, forcing him to calm down further. He hadn't added why she had surprised him, but explaining that he had nearly been killed by one of her kind probably wouldn't break the ice too well. His caramel gaze lingered on Faelene, captivated by her strange eyes and twisted horn. He had met some Unicorns in his time, but not many as uniquely crafted as her. "Yes, quite beautiful." The tawny buck remarked, and for a moment he wondered whether he was talking about the elaborate ice structures or the dark damsel in front of him. 'Oh boy..'

With a bit of a struggle, he tore his sights from Faelene and took a few steps towards the gleaming cave. He deliberately left a good amount of space between himself and the horned lady, though some part of him wouldn't have minded being closer. The more rational part, however, didn't want to get too close to something that risky. A puff of warm breath escaped his nostrils as he peered into the cavern. The shining aquamarine swept all around them in smooth arcs and dips. It was an awe-inspiring sight; he had never seen ice like this before. It was going to be a day for some firsts, it seemed.
