Ever since the sun had rose Alleo had been relishing in the warmth it provided, allowing it to seep into the very marrow of his bones. He, along with so many others, had spent so long in absolute darkness that it almost felt surreal that the ball of fire was overhead once more. A gentle breeze ruffled his dark mane, the strands fluttering against his shoulder making the muscles twitch in response. He sighed, opening his eyes and surveying the fields of green that seemed to be coming back to life before his very eyes. It was quiet and he wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. Growing up he'd always been told about the 'calm before the storm'. It was calm. It was quiet. He could almost see the darkening clouds on the horizon and yet no one seemed to be at all concerned, but then again he didn't go out of his way to speak to anyone in the herd and no one went out of their way to speak to him.

The grey and white stallion yawned and stepped forward, frowning at the way his joints cracked and popped because he had been standing still for so long. Before long, though, he steps were silent aside from the rustling of the grass as his hooves parted it. Tail flicked and ears rotated atop his head as he listened for anyone else that might be around, but the Foothills was ever silent save for the occasional songbird that would sing to him. He zigzagged his way through the fields, going from dandelion to dandelion, kicking the white puffs and watching the seeds float and settle before moving on to the next one.

Alleo grew bored soon and altered his course so he would be headed toward the waterfall for he had not had a bath in sometime. In the darkness he would not venture even into the shallows not only because of the chill that had lingered in the air, but because he could not see what lurked in the water. As he neared the waterfall and the pool he could see just how clear the water was. He only lingered on the edge of it for a few seconds before stepping into the water and sighing. It was cool but not cool enough to make him high tail it away, tail between his legs like a beaten dog.

Another sound made him turn and he found that he was not the only one there and not the only one with the mindset of having a bath. Cheyenne was there, but she would be easy for Alleo to ignore. His gaze drifted away from her and he stamped a hoof into the water, splashing some of it up onto his chest and belly. He stepped deeper into the water all the while keeping one ear tilted toward Cheyenne while he washed the dirt from his coat so the white would gleam in the sunlight like it should.
