Whisper
Long lost words whisper slowly to me
Still can't find what keeps me here
The voices. They were speaking to her once again. Like the sound of the wind rushing through the trees. Soft and cold and low voices they were. They told her to push on and keep on moving. They told her to find her next victim and to slit its throat with the horn that she had been blessed with. If only these voices could reveal themselves. Her eyes were wide and her ears were pushed back onto her skull as she listened to the voices. She wanted so badly to tell them that she did not want to keep walking. But, wouldn’t that be just disrespect? For all she knew, these were the Gods speaking to her, right? The Gods were directing her! It made her feel so honored for the God’s to be guiding her throughout her life.
Her pink orbs gazed at the land that lay in front of her. She kept treading through the woods. The cool winds crawling up her spine and the grass and leaves brush against her hooves and legs. Nimbus clouds rolled through the sky, coving the sun and giving the day a dull hue. Thunder rumbled in the distance. She closed her eyes with delight as the booming sound echoed across the forest. How lovely. The Gods were singing. A wicked smile slithered onto her maw. That twisted smile. You might think you know what a twisted smile was, but never have you ever seen one like this. The way her lips curled into that ‘friendly’ grin was just not right. It was a smile of a demon. A grin that would make your blood curl and your eyes wince.
The smile soon faded as she heard the voices once again speaking to her. ‘Go home. Home.’ They were now saying. Home? Whisper did not have a home. ‘Home. Go home!’ They kept repeating themselves. What the hell did they mean? “Shut up! What is this ‘home’ you speak of? There is NO home!” Anger was now bubbling in her veins. How she wished they had not said anything about home. Home was nothing but a memory to her now. It was just a horrible memory.
