 Kahlua stood in a secluded portion of the woods near the cliffs, nosing the plum colored amulet that hung around her neck and feeling rather lonely despite the commotion about her. Her herd mates were many and active, but the two she seemed to desire most were nowhere to be found. She had been searching for Lace and Aaron without success for days, putting aside even her want and desires in search of the stallions. With the return of the glorious sun, she had felt the land come alive with magic. When she had first come here she had not understood what Thor had meant about the lack of magic, but now that it was back she knew. She could feel it in her bones. Therefore, she had been seeking her superiors in an effort to continue work on the wall that was already somewhat encircling the borders of her beloved Edge. With no luck in finding them, Kahlua had decided to return to the little hideaway she considered her own, in the Edge. It was nothing special, a simple copse of trees that had twisting and entwining roots. Between the roots, Kahlua had dug out a small burrow and within it was an assortment of various-colored gems. Though magic had been gone from the land, Kahlua had not been idle. Much of her time had been spent socializing and learning the lay of the land, but she had also been hard at work. She did not know what the gems were useful for yet, as Lace had not told her of any plans besides the wall, but someday she would prove her worth. Perhaps then, she would be able to use them for her own projects. |
