Solitude is peace, freedom of mind and soul. It is power, the dark mare claimed, continuing on with sentiments that Kahlua did not, but was trying to understand. She did not exactly agree with the idea of only surrounding yourself with those deemed worthy. She did, however, understand the idea of being around those who could aid you in a quest. But the lord of the light was not her patron or calling. She loved him for the sun he had brought with his return, the light that kept the monsters at bay, but the lady of the moon was her true love. Slowly, she lowered her nose to her chest and touched the plum colored stone that hung there as she thought of her goddess. The ungainly mare's claim that Kahlua did not need to know her name was surprising to Kahlua. She had never held much stock in names and she thought it was odd that anyone would. After all, what was a name but another word. She didn't have time to make this observation to the black mare. Before she had even finished processing her thoughts, Keahi was moving away from her down the hill. For a second she stared, then she called off after because she felt compelled to. “Good luck!” The call was almost a question. For a while longer she stood atop the hill, trying to understand what Keahi had said about only surrounding yourself with those who were worthy. Kahlua only felt distant and separated. When she felt she could stand it no longer, she descended the hill and entered the realm of mortals once again, feeling happier and safer for it. |
