He felt like he was flying through space. Everywhere he gazed with is black eyes there were stars - above, in front and also under him they twinkled and he imagined that they sounded like little bells chiming far, far away. He would have lost his bearings if it hadn’t been for the silvery shine of the moon helping him to make out the slight movement of the ocean under him. That very same ocean mirrored the sky and gave him the feeling of sailing through dark, endless space. But he loved it, he loved every little thing with flying at night and especially when the night was this clear with a big, round moon stripping his coat color of its saturation. In daylight he was creamy with pristine white hair, but under se moon he appeared silver and on his wings and back small silvery flecks was lit up by the pale light. It almost looked like he also was reflecting the stars, just like the waters beneath him.

The pegasus stallion was young, almost not old enough to be without his parents. But is loneness was involuntary though he’d lost them both. His mother, Ru’yah, died when he was just weaned, six months old and he mourned a long time together with his father. His father - Al-Shahin; the handsome, poised Arabian equine raised him well from that point, but they got separated in a terrible storm half a year after Ru’yah’s death. For months the young pegasus searched for his father, but eventually he had do give up. He missed them both deeply, but the loss of his father hurt the most since it was more recent and also because of the possibility of him still being alive.

He’d left the ocean far behind him now and with the help of the moon he could see a dense forest spread out under him. Here and there he could see darker areas in the forest and a faint smell of ash and coal tickled his sensitive nostrils. He became intrigued, wondering what strange land he’d ventured into so he started beating his wings against the air current collecting wind beneath them to keep in the same place as he searched for a good place to land. His black eyes reflected the stars as he gazed down and found a clearing. Carefully he angled forward, tilting his right wing so that he started a slow spiraling decent towards the dark trees. Silently like an owl he neared the ground. When he had just a yard left he spread his broad wings as much as he could and pushed the air towards the ground. His decent almost ground to a halt, but his landing became so soft that a baby deer that was sleeping in the yellow grass, just a few feet away, didn’t even stir.

The clearing was not a natural one. It had been created by a wildfire and the trees around it where blackened and the smell of ash was very prominent. The young stallion gazed up towards the circle of stars that he was able to see above the tall trees and then he turned his eyes towards the darkness of the forest. He already longed to fly under the silver moon again, but when he prepared his barn owl wings to lift a scent of something besides ash caught his attention. Horses. These were inhabited lands! His nostrils widened, ears pricked up and an excited nigh murmured in his throat.
"I’m here!" he whispered into thin air. "I am Breeze!"
