She moves quickly, liquid smoke pouring down the path, the ash of her mane glinting in the light of the heady full moon. Her costume is simple; her flesh is decaying, crumbling off her bones. Hideous burns have been painted onto her charcoal skin, glistening a sullen red crimson. Blood, composed of crushed raspberries and full of seeds, drips down her shoulder. Flies, real ones with hairy black legs and flickering trasparent wings, buzz around her, landing on her wet eyes and whirling around the fake injuries.
Confutatis moves almost lethargically, at the stately pace a predator adopts when fully fed from a rich kill. The path, worn beneath her hooves, she follows silently, not uttering a sound of protest as sharp blades of cut corn cut into her frogs and slash at the hair of her lower legs. She is quiet, an epiphany amongst the clamor of the living, and she listens to the haunting howl of a wolf. A queer smile lights her face, curling her sooty lips into a chilling grin, exposing her yellowed, blunt teeth. There is a friend out there waiting my arrival.
The path splits before her, creating a 'T'. Instead of halting, she moves forward, hooves thudding softly on the earth, just a shadow moving along the road, unhesitating.
She follows where she believes the howl of the wolf comes from.
