In softest air, a stutter steers the heart away from the bane, leaves lasting sorrows and carries me a new

”You’re so big now Joro, it’s time for you to take care of yourself… Go on now, be what I created you to be.”

Over and over these words spun around in the dark filly’s mind. Mommy was wrong, Jorogumo wasn’t all grown up, and she wasn’t ready to be by herself. She needed Mommy, she needed her soft nuzzles, her guiding word. The forest all around her was frightening. It was nearing nightfall, and she knew that she’d be easy food for any creature out in the darkness. All it would take is one quick bite, and it would be over.

Going after Mommy would be futile, she knew because she had tried. Shinigami had cut her off every time, and even made an effort of driving her off. Is this what happened to her siblings to? Were they left on their own in some strange place? Did her parents raise her merely for the slaughter? Jorogumo was starting to believe those words that had been poured into her were a lie. She wasn’t destined to be a murderous temptress, she was destined to be food for the wolves.

Pale eyes drift up to the darkening sky, a defeated expression came the child. There appeared to be no hope beyond this place. Her bones would become brittle and ash, food for the trees around her. Nothing more, and nothing less. Fate was cruel and sick, Jorogumo was beginning to realize this, but she alo knew something else, she could try and fight fate. If Mommy had been wrong about her being grown up, what was to say she was wrong about everything.

Fighting back the tears that were forming in her eyes, Jorogumo began to run. She would find someone or something to help her. Or she would just find a place to hide. Hiding, she could do that. Where was there to hide though? Jorogumo began to gallop, her gait ungraceful and awkward as she moved. There were so many scents, all kinds of different creatures. They were all foreign, not of Mommy and Shinigami. Not the familiar smells of evergreen and soil.

Jorogumo realized there may be a chance of survival if she called on those out in the unknown it could further her chance at survival, or it would be her death penalty. She didn’t have much to lose. She stopped and looked around, no one was in sight, just their scents. “Hello?” She called off into the darkness. “Please tell me someone’s there.” Desperation was seeping into her voice, there had to be someone willing to pull her out of this darkness. There had to be someone willing to give her a home.

"blah blah blah."
