 But you feel blue sometimes
And you're blood bleeds red like mine
The grass is greener on the other side
What I'm saying is we're all alike

For all that the mountains seemed quite near, it was nether the less a long way back from the threshold, especially on short, skinny legs. It was easier, however, in the grip of tallsun to travel on such a demanding trail. The drifts of snow were few and far between with the relatively clear weather relieving him of hindrance. Along the way, Sacre had often turned to his new 'friend' and pointed out landmarks, normally places he played or pointing out the Aurora Borealis when night finally did fall upon them. He had also offered a brief respite by the Frozen Arch before continuing onwards again. By the time the boy spotted the entrance into the Basin it was already daylight, cloven hooves clicking softly against the hard surface of the only road into the land of spark and time. Familiar scents were a welcome blow through his nostrils, Sacre may currently have his reservations about his home, but he still couldn't help feeling happy and safe here. He doubted that would ever change no matter how far into the darkness it fell, there was still the light of his childhood memories remaining.

Immediately, he began heading for the lake to cure the thirsty after effect of gruelling mountain travel. It was also a nice place to simply stand and talk. Walking past places he used to play with Roux, he smiled fondly, the barks of Aramis his father's bonded coming to mind too. Would the alabaster colt he had escorted would create similar happy memories here.

The lake appeared after several bends and Sacre eagerly trotted forwards only to halt before it's glittering edge to take a long, well earned gulp. Fresh and icy, water from the mountains was like no other in the crimson child's mind, especially when all you could see was endless blue sky. Raising his head, droplets sliding down his maw and dripping back into the pool, he made an attempt with ocean blue eyes to find the other colt's gaze, a smile forming upon soaked lips. "Welcome to the Aurora Basin, Crake!" His charming tones laughed happily "this is much better than those stuffy trees, wouldn't you agree?"
