Astray was a complex emotion. Despite the fact that Feuille had no luck catching the attention of a passerby – possibly because she was so damn quiet among the decaying forest – she'd driven herself around as if she was a lingering odor, slowly cultivating hoofbeats that only crept a few inches in sound. The darkness fared her well, she was accustomed to living amongst the foliage, so adapted she should call herself a drifting leaf. Her body, often passionately caressed by the fire–like cindervine, wore a thickening coat which matched the deep red of her surroundings. Abundant hair spilled over her neck, tangled in itself, woven and clasped by burning leaves, smoldering the ends of tawny strands that meekly drag the musty ground. It wasn't a wonder, exactly, that she blended so well against autumn's strawberry bark. Her heart stabbed against her soul, an unruly briar, pressing deep into the burden of seclusion. Sometimes being a part of the forest wasn't as hopeful as being an alienated from it.

Feuille lifted her eyes to the sifting sunlight as she often did, catching the glimpse of drifting forest motes – or old, desperate pollen that dusted golden trees like a long night's glitter. Forelock fell into her eyes and earrings tittered together while she pushed her ears forward, intrigued by the sparkle of a daunting forest's sunlight. Indeed, this beautiful place for the brokenhearted spoke to her without words.
