Tangere. He had heard the other girl say something similar, out in the downpour, but it is nice to have confirmation. Now that there is time, he runs the name through his mind, wondering if his dam had ever told him of the rain-girl, for Mum had known everything. He misses her, whenever he stops to think about it, some vague knowledge of time telling him that she is long-dead, for she had been several years older than he, and he is almost old now. Somehow, he is unbothered by this, the mental image of her bones bringing peace rather than sorrow. Perhaps she is with his sire now, her remains mixed with those of the zombie, both rotting together into nothing. He smiles at the idea, conveniently forgetting that his father had been just as mortal as she, and that the buckskin had never come back, leaving Koona after a single night. He prefers the romantic, monstrous version.

His name has been asked for, he recalls suddenly, drawn out of his daydream by the more practical parts of his brain. Manners dictate that he must respond, so he does, guttural voice carrying farther than he would like, no matter how quietly he speaks. "Slaiter."

Someone else finally approaches the duo, another painted fae, though she bears an earthen pelt rather than Tangere's ethereal silver, her eyes the color of summer grass. Another spirit, perhaps, tied to the ground and plants rather than water? Maybe not, but he does not discard the thought completely, simply tucks it into the recesses of his brain, deciding to watch the newcomer first. He does not recognize her as their companion from the Threshold, for she had only been with them for a few moments, her form and scent hidden by the storm.
