A velvety maw prodded his shoulder and a weak smile melted upon his maw. It was hard to stay strong during this wicked period of darkness, yet Arrane would never stop fighting to defeat the impending threat of wraiths. Images never failed to continue flickering on stony walls, stamping themselves on the back of his mind, dancing in the corner of his eyes. Swallowing defiantly, the ivory stallion would refuse to let these beastly pictures weaken him anymore. For goodness's sake he was a warrior! The shifty smile disappeared soon after, staring ahead, lost in his mind and thoughts. It scared him that his sisters were being plagued by the demons wandering around Helovia.

Would they be safe? It would be unlikely they would survive, no fighting skills, no idea on what the wraiths were. Gritting his teeth, rebellious cyan eyes glared at the walls now, hating them with every ounce of his being. Adrenaline powered by fury raced through his veins, hating the waters reflecting on the darkened cave. How dare they make him remember painful memories! It felt like a stroll down agony lane once more, a period where he had loathed himself for leaving a siblings that adored him. These strong emotions spurred by hatred and rage were foreign, completely unlike his calmed personality, kindred and friendly. Yet here he was, wishing he could exterminate every last wraith off the face of this Earth. After his friends had been consumed by darkness, his family possibly in danger, it drove him mad!

Abishia brought him back to reality, as he felt his red tinged mane softly pulled, tickling his neck. Looking to his side, hearing a girlish giggle, Arrane caught sight of the fae gently nibbling on his hair. The sweet sight brought a small laugh rumbling out of his chest. All nerves and anger from the images ceased bubbling and taking over his consciousness, receding back into the depths of his mind. A sweet little girl she was, the ivory stallion affectionately nuzzled her cheek as she stood there distractedly. But they were in the presence of the dappled and white mare still, causing the stallion to avert cyan pools towards the woman.

Shocked, eyes gazing blankly ahead, her whole figure straightened out after moments of peering motionlessly at the gurgling pool. In all of the serenity of the night, the placid stars twinkling tranquil in the endless void of ebony, the images still brought back the horror plaguing Helovia now. The period of darkness. Looking back at the mare, he smiled, realizing she was fiercely glaring at the pool, as he had been minutes before. "It's okay", reassuringly whispering at the entranced mare, his whole being was focused on her, curious and willing to aid her in whatever had struck her so forcefully.

It didn't matter to him earlier how she tumbled into him, or her lack of speaking, for he and Abishia had been reduced to that space earlier, and were free of the illusions. Azure hued eyes met each other, Arrane and the mare exchanged friendly smiles, as her look lingered upon Abishia. "At last", responding to the simple phrase uttered, Arrane felt overjoyed that the shadows of the past had vanished. The grin still remained on a velvet maw, awaiting for the conversation to further develop, knowing Abishia, the sweet little girl, would bring something up.
