Lakota
The Poisoner

Even as she departs, the cackling lingers in Lakota's ears, and she tries so hard to remind herself that this isn't Ktulu. Ktulu would never do this, would never laugh so harshly, would never hurt Lakota so badly in any physical way. But it's still her face, her laugh, her appearance, and it hurts more than any wound she can ever obtain. Focusing on the pain she does have is the only thing that clears her head, chasing her prey into the bowls of the earth. Is she even the predator anymore? Was she ever? Ktulu held her heart, her soul, her everything in hands that could be careful or careless in equal measure. Lakota would always be the one chasing after Ktulu, not the other way around.

Aodaun successfully distracts Ktulu, and Lakota doesn't even want to imagine what sort of power he holds over her in her wraithlike state that manages to give her pause. If it's anything like the boggart that hung around Oxy like a sluggish, malevolent cloud, she doesn't want to know what it is that Ktulu sees. Before the thought can really solidify or branch off, ruby eyes turn to lock on her, and she knows her window of time is rapidly closing. Taking a literal leap of faith, internally hoping she isn't skewered in some sick Romeo and Juliet twist, she shoves forward and their bodies connect.

The next thing Lakota registers is Ktulu screaming.

In the pool, her thrashing does nothing to aid her, and Lakota watches with teary eyes as her beloved screams and howls like she is burning from the inside out. Weakened, she slumps gracelessly to her knees, legs splayed as she falls to her side. Violet eyes are all that remain fixed on Ktulu, laying on the side that is least injured. It is sure to scar, and rather hideously at that, but right now her vision is slow like syrup and everything is a bit muffled. It's not fatal, but she's in desperate need of a healer, because it will become so if she continues to bleed out from such a large wound. But all she can see is Ktulu, healed and beautiful again, and she gives a helpless sob of relief. Her tongue is thick and she's exhausted, wants only to sleep, but she manages to speak.

"Thank the Gods...you're alright..." It's a soft whimper of noise, grateful and almost reverent as she lets it waver with her desire to cry. She doesn't even have enough energy for that. She just wants to sit and stare at Ktulu for hours, because she's finally here. She's finally okay.
