Well this sucked. That damn pretty little thing actually cured him and he had so wanted her to join with him, he imagined she would have been delightful all sickly and such. Wait, he didn’t really think that did he? You tell me. There seemed to be some lingering tendrils of the thoughts that did not feel entirely at home inside his mind, as though they belonged to another. What exactly had happened felt like a dream and certainly did not feel real – not even when he examined the wound stretching along his side, a wound he was pretty sure he hadn’t had before… Well, before he ate some magic mushrooms obviously because what the hell had even happened? None of it really made any sense (did he attack someone?) but the weirdest part was the point that he was obviously hallucinating right now. The Basin was, for all purposes, rather abandoned. Everyone had just gone! Either there was a party somewhere and he hadn’t been invited – figures – or they were all dead. Neither of those options really bothered him; he wasn’t prone to caring too much about a bunch of strangers. Almost too bad about Ruby though, he might have turned out all right eventually. Part of the hallucination appeared to be a change occurring in the Basin – ice taking over and sprouting out as though it were alive and growing. One large spike narrowly missed his face “OH FUCK” and another struck at his legs “Really?!” as he began to pick up his pace. Hallucination or not, he did not want to stick around to become some sort of icy unicorn kebab. The gods wouldn’t get a taste of his delectable self so easily! Surely there would be somewhere a little less icy and a little more safe where he could calm his shit and see about getting whatever he had eaten out of his system because it obviously wasn’t agreeing with him. Limping now, he moved out of the Basin with as much speed as he could muster. Crake |
