Things had been going oddly smooth in the depths of the undergrounds of Helovia. Cheveyo almost thought it was pointless to have a guard stand by the solitary entry into the lands all of the healthy equines left were currently holed up in, but this was her duty and she would continue to serve until her last breath left her body. Even then, it was rumored that her ghost would continue surviving on this planet, floating around forever and ever keeping watch over the herds as some spirit warrior that the mares would tell their children about. Flicking her flaxen tail across her painted barrel the lady warrior allowed an amused smirk to slide across her features quickly.
It wasn't very often that the mare allowed amusement or any emotion other than seriousness to cross her features, in fact just then was one of the only times the paint could remember smiling since the dark cloud had rolled across the pale blue sky. Chestnut harks flicked back against her skull as pink pools looked up at the opening once more, it had been a few weeks since her grand entrance into their burrow as of just yet she hadn't taken the time to go looking around at the other caverns and caves that seemed to be linked to the Sanctuary some how, but then she wasn't infected nor was she injured in anyway so what was the point in going into the caverns known for their history of healing?
Allowing a soft sigh to slide off of her vocal chords into the air that only carried the sound of the gentle murmurs coming from deep within the caverns. From what she had been able to tell, in the very small amount of time that she spent around the others, it seemed that the herds were all but disbanded as everyone began to mingle in more and more with those that in other circumstances they wouldn't speak or even look at each other. All of the current events made Cheveyo's painted pelt crawl with discomfort and only seemed to be pushing her further and further away, no matter what happened the lady warrior would be there to protect those who claimed their alliance to the Foothills. They were her home and she had sworn to protect them with her life.
It was then that a crashing sound enveloped the area in which she was standing, just far enough away from the opening that she was in the shadows, but close enough she had a slight idea as to what was happening. As her chestnut lids slid back once more to expose the pinks of her irises the form of a red stained black, horned beast came into focus just as his deep baritones burst into the silence she had been enjoying to the fullest. "What is this?" Of course his question was an easily answered one, but Cheveyo had to go through the usual of questioning him before she would answer him. Her strides closer to the beast would have been silent if it weren't for the fact that the ground beneath her was stone that made even the softest of steps seem like an elephant was stomping about. Pinks locked in on the stallion as her chestnuts slammed back against her skull in their usual position. From what she could see, he seemed healthy enough and she wasn't about to sacrifice the poor animal to the wraiths for just interrupting her silence, now if he wound up being a tool of sorts then she would rethink her original judgment.
"A safe haven." As always her lyrics were slightly rougher than one would expect from a mare, only due to the dissuse that she enjoyed so much. She figured she could go through the act and introduce herself to the creature who had a black piece of bone protruding from his skull, but at this point if he was really interested he could ask himself.
