Tillas looked at the two horses. She was in a bad temper, but she held her tongue. The red-maned unicorn had a point, she supposed. "I'm Tillas. I wanted to join the herd. Is there anybody I'm supposed to talk to, or something like that?" With an enormous effort she put charm into her words. Let's see if it would work. "I've travelled for a long time, and I'm really hoping to settle down. I heard that unicorns lived in this area, and so here I came." Tillas sighed, shaking out her silver mane. She remembered her old home, with the strange people. But at least they had groomed her silky coat and woven flowers to her white mane, fed her the longest green grass and prayed to her like a god. Well, she was nearly one in that one, one of the ten unicorns left alive after a long and bloody battle with... what was it? Something that didn't exist here. Something powerful and slippery, sneaking past rows of humans desperately trying to protect their gods and goddesses.
