Does it have to start with a broken heart
Broken dreams and bleeding parts

Over the years life had only gotten harder and more complicated. Disappointment laced every decision she had made in her life, save for a very few of them. She had kept to herself after her daughter's successful invasion of the Foothills, had chosen to stay with them for some time before disappearing into the Wilds of Helovia. The way Paladin had looked at their children after their success had not set well with her, nor had his departure without so much as checking to see if their children had been injured. She had known him to be stern and set in his righteous ways but she had never thought him to be completely uncaring and aloof. It became stuck in her mind that he wasn't the same as she remembered him to be. She still loved him still, but the hardships of life had changed him and she wasn't sure it was for the better. Soleil was not blind to the fact that she had changed as well, but she continuously told herself that she still loved her children no matter their decisions in life.

Her steps echoed with each step she took into the Sanctuary. The mare had been on the run ever since the darkness had begun and she was exhausted. It shown dully in her blue eyes and in the way she carried her tall, muscular frame. Her ears twitched at the sounds that came from deeper within the cave and she began to wonder who all had made it. She fretted over her children, her heart hammering uncomfortably within the confines of her chest as she thought of them stuck out in the darkness with the monsters. She prayed that they were safe, begged whatever gods were watching over them that her family had found safety as she had.

"Hello...?" She called out, her steps pausing as she listened for anyone who might answer her. "Paladin? Ktulu ... Ophelia..." As she said their names without answer she began to lose hope that they were there. "Vadim... Soren... Varath? Tyradon..." The last name she called was one that she hadn't spoken since she'd left Isilme. Her eldest son that had spent so much time without his mother. She often thought it was her greatest mistake in life that she had allowed Terrador to raise him.
