| She has been latent, itching for a taste of the dawn, hungry for any promise that the world shall be made right. And so when she sees Ampere, the blue-spark mare, she finds herself pulled along by the older girl's electric personality, bright glowing eyes, and the latent energy of the Sun God's call, caught in the whirl of a lasso of fire.
A small spark cast free on the whim of the wind, the girl is drawn to this larger flame without knowing it, hungry for the bright power of the once-met Sun. She feels his heat in the depths of her heart, senses his light without knowing what it means; needy, heedless, she finds herself drifting behind the electric mare, drawn by the golden god's warmth, the light he offers, the safety he gives, the hope he presents. She sees him there and at once is warm, hot with a wave of bright relief.
Strange, that the child of Moon-Maid and the brothers of night has chosen the Sun for her patron Lord. She bears his colors, though the Moon leaves mark; she is a descendant of desert heat, a regressive gene brought forth to light. The girl looses sight of the mare's rump; it is lost in the glory of the burning god, the swell of wonder at their second meeting. Tandavi is older now; she has done all he asked; and she wonders what her reward shall be, or if it is this, this liberation from night. With the return of the sun, the girl thinks, perhaps will follow the dawn they have missed, the fall of the dark; and this, in this moment, would be enough.
From the entrance of the room the girl watches, silent, black eyes bright as Ampere speaks. She has no words to offer the God, no questions to ask that he cannot know without her aid. To be near him, she thinks, is enough; to feel his warmth is all she needs. Hope is, for the first time, within her grasp, and she wants it to be true, needs it to be true, and fears that in her disturbance of the silence will lie the destruction of this moment, this room, this hope.
